Do you have any special incentives or rewards?

Postby bzlife1967 » March 25th, 2006, 7:23 pm

Im just curious if any of you have any special incentives and what they are besides the obvious incentives that we will all reach, better health etc. What are you going to reward yourselves when you reach a milestone? What have you done for a visual or otherwise to give you incentive each day?

The reason I ask is, I bought myself 2 cute lil outfits today one in a size 14 and one in a size 12, I am currently a 18 on bottom and 22 on top. I promptly hung them on my wall in my room so it is the first thing I see when I wake up in the morning.... Can't wait to wear those cute lil outfits this summer. I for one would LOVE to know what you all are doing for little bits of motivation???

I've had kind of built-in rewards all along, because I kept needing new clothes. Figured that was reward enough at first.

Since I just hit a big milestone, some friends talked me into a pair of rhinestoned jeans and a gorgeous pink rhinestone belt to go with some hand-me-down pink cowboy boots I'm getting. Bear in mind, this is absolutely not ME normally; I'm the last one to wear something that would call attention to myself. But I'm so proud of my progress, I really kind of want to show it off a little.

This was originally supposed to be my reward for reaching goal, though. I'm not sure WHAT I'll get then. Maybe a small trip.

Clothes are good (and sometimes...REALLY necessary)! I'm a big fan of pampering as a reward, so I'm doing a mani/pedi or a nice facial or something. I think since my reward for things USED to be food, I now do things to help me look as pretty as I FEEL!

I bought a new pink leather jacket with a mandarin collar in a size 14, I'm 5'11 so a 14 is my first goal, might not want to get much smaller, we'll see. Thank jacket sure looks tiny to me

When I lost my first 25lbs I went and got my very first tattoo and for 40lbs I am taking the gift certificate my hubby bought me for a day spa and using it to get 12 tanning sessions.

50lbs is just 5lbs away for me and I told hubby I want tickets to go see Larry the Cable Guy live in Daytona Beach so hopefully he will come through for me!

BZ, I just had to comment that I am the EXACT opposite of you, 18 on top 22 on bottom!!! :roflmao: Stinks being two sizes, but it could be worse!!!

OK, my insentives....it's good to give this some thought from time to time....OK, this may sound shallow, BUT, the LARGEST insentive is, after a year of mainainence of goal, I am going to get a tummy tuck and boob lift! After being over weight all of my life, I KNOW there will be excess skin!

The little insentives are new clothes!!! YAY NEW CLOTHES!!!!!!!!!! GOTTA love those NEW clothes!!!! Yeeee HAH!!!!!

Oh Momma!! I am soooo gonna do that too. Breast reduction and lift, then maybe my top will match my bottom  and tummy tuck, I already have the "belly monster" so I KNOW I'm gonna have loose skin.

Suppose we could get a group rate??? LOL

My mom had a tummy tuck (abdominoplasty) last year and she looks great!!

One of my rewards will be a Navy goatskin flight jacket. They're a little pricey and you only want to ever buy one so I want to be a perfect 42-44 chest when I get it.

Oh Joyce and Geri you can add me into that tommy tuck and boob lift group! That will come after maintaining for a bit though! As a matter of fact I am about to start my fund for it this week! NO boob reduction for me though if I want to stay married

After I lost 30 pounds, I rewarded myself with a haircut. It was exciting to get a new 'do, but I miss the length I had. lol.

I haven't decided what I want to do at 50 pounds. Probably just get a manicure. Or go shopping. I haven't bought any new clothes yet. I've been enjoying wearing stuff I haven't worn in a while. But now those clothes are getting baggy.

I think that for my halfway point (7 lbs away) I will start a series of body wraps. If you've never had one, not only do they help with inch loss, but they are so very relaxing.

My husband said that when I reach my goal, I can go on a shopping spree and get whatever I want!

I can't wait!!

When I hit onederland, I'm going to get the DVD of Pride and Prejudice (the new one). I already have the 1995 BBC miniseries on DVD. So, with my choice of Mr. Darcys (Colin Firth or Matthew Macfadyen), I'll be able to swoon to my heart's content.

Danya,
I LOVE that movie! I took my 15 yr. old daughter to see it and she is hooked! She begged daddy to take her to Wallymart the day it came out on DVD and I think she has watched it a dozen times. Now she has decided she wants to become a screen writer and write novels on the side.

I already gave myself a treat for reaching 30lbs lost. Microdermabrasion and facial. I was scared (since I have very sensitive skin) but it was a wonderful experience. My face has never felt so soft and smooth!!! I'm hooked and plan on having it done every 4 weeks. I know someone who used to work for a plastic surgeon and he paid for her training and license. She worked for him 5 years and then branched out on her own. She is going to do a monthly microdermabrasion/facial for me at half what the plastic surgeon's spa charges! Yay!!

I'm checking in to laser teeth whitening for my big 50lb loss. :D And I want to get veneers on my front teeth when I reach goal.

I'm joining the plastic surgery crew, when I get down to my goal and have done everything I can working out (currently do 45 minutes cadio 4-5x's a week and weights 30 minutes 3x's a week with a trainer) than it's a lipo and lifting for me. Not sure of the tummy tuck yet, it's an awful large scar and my scars don't fade well, I'll have to make that decision when I'm ready to go!
