Huh?
Whazziss I read?
I go away for a couple of weeks and return to discover that a hatchet-wielding alien from Planet Chopitoff must have removed half of your body, eh?
An 80-pound weight loss in less than two months?
Come on! Are you trying to pull my chinhairs or sumpin’?
People who follow the Medifast protocols certainly
do experience rapid weight loss. I personally lost a whole lot of flabber in a relatively short period myself. We have been involved with TSFL for nearly four years and we have a whole lotta clients that have lost weight fast but
80 pounds in 45 days takes the cake.
Heck-o-lah, it takes the Guinness Record!
Sheesh! We all wanna know your secret! Wowser!
Over the last five years, you have made good progress by making healthy changes to your eating habits to reduce your weight from 315 pounds. Perhaps we are missing the point and your weight loss of 80 pounds reflects your starting weight five years ago of 315 to your starting weight on Medifast and that you’ve actually lost 40 pounds since you started on Medifast on March 10th.
Our desire is not to make light of your weight loss – it takes tremendous effort, energy, finances and emotional force to turn around our eating style but it is just does not seem possible to lose 80 pounds in less than 2 months. We have male clients that weigh in excess of 500 and 300 pounds, under the supervision of their physicians on the complete meal replacement program and even though they are program-compliant, they have not shed 2 pounds a day. At best, from our experience, a young large-sized male on the complete meal replacement program can shed about .75 – 1.0 pounds per day.
Re:
My upper half is where I want to lose weight, but I guess that will take a long time. I don't expect that to go down for about 6 months to a year.
Regarding where we lose our weight…Oh, it would surely be nice if we could tell the fat gobblers exactly where we would like them to work! Alas, it is up to our body to do its thing and our opinion and choice evidently do not matter. If it did, I would have reserved some in my forehead area, under the eyes to fill in the bags and certainly would have retained some in the boobage area.
Generally, we find that we put on weight from the bottom up and lose weight from the top down. One of the coolest things about Medifast is that it truly targets the fat, preserves the muscle and once in the fat-burning state, our body works efficiently to slough away the flabbola. Much of our body shape is inherited and while we can put forth our best efforts at eating properly and exercising, realistically some of our body shape cannot be totally modified or morphed unless we make a visit to a surgeon. Most women find that they do lose inches from their chest and their back fat is reduced or eliminated when they reach a lower weight. We have several friends with narrow hips (Dang! I hate THAT about ‘em, too!) and large upper torsos. They lost a considerable amount of weight, their bra-size and waist-size was reduced and while they are thinner than they were, their body shape remains like an inverted triangle – large on the top and narrow at the bottom. The important thing is their BMI is in a healthy range and they are most pleased with their physical appearance now – and so are their mates.
I failed to measure myself when I first started on the program and did not do so until I had lost 20 pounds. My measurement record shows I lost 15 inches from my chest, 18 from my waist, 3 inches from my neck. I am not sure what your final landing weight is but as you get closer to an appropriate weight for your height, undoubtedly you will lose fat from the upper part of your body as well.
Look at you! You have slender legs and can get away with wearing those cute shorter skirts…
It sounds like you will be in such a supportive environment and the beautiful weather and water will afford many opportunities to walk and swim, both excellent forms of exercise as you move closer to your goal weight. We hope that you have a
super time in St. Kitts with your boyfriend! He sounds like a keeper if he is one who will look out for your health needs. Bon voyage!
