I'll be having a vanilla shake about 10, chili (been presoaking since last night) about 1, carmel nut bar about 4, bay scallops and a salad between 6-7 and either another shake or pudding about 9.

I'll let ya know how I like everything. Dang...that sounds like a TON of food! :lol:

Yikes! I don't know if soaking overnight is a good idea, I don't think there are any preservatives in the Medifast food cause someone else on here had a "moldy" experience with 2 day old oatmeal cookies. It goes bad very fast so watch it hehe. How did you like the stuff you had? I had a chili yesterday too, but I spiced mine up a little and it wasn't bad, filled me up!

I think I missed a meal though, cause I only had 5 meals and no L&G. We are supposed to have 6 w/o a L&G right? Is that going to mess me up?

Oh and I felt like I lost some water weight this morning so I did weigh myself, I'm down 2 pounds just like you are! But it's that time of the month so I'm always excessively bloated right now, and I still have some water on me, maybe it'll go away today. I need to drink more water!! :)

Ugh I am just blathering on and on aren't I? LOL sorry! Hope to hear what you thought of the food. BTW, the french vanilla blueberry oatmeal was good too, had that this morning. :) I think the peach is a little better though.

Image OH NO! I could have sworn I read some where on here to soak the chili and the soup over night. I hope it's still good as I didn't bring anything else with me to work other than what I am having today.

I did add a bit of chili powder and cumin to it also. *sniff* I hope it's ok.

I don't know if having 6 MF instead of the 5 and 1 will mess you up or not. I wouldn't think so, but then again...I'm brand spanking new.

I've always had a pretty easy time drinking water. It's my favorite thing to drink. I've already downed over 32 ozs in 1 1/2 hours.

It is fine to soak the chili, in fact it is recomeneded. If it is in the refrigerator you are fine, I certainly wouldn't leave it sitting on the counter in a bowl all night. I actually make the chili and puddings up in large batches 6 or 7 packets at a time and they have been fine up to a week in the fridge. I actually prefer the chili after it has been made with all the seasonings and sat in the frige for 2 days it really brings out the flavors.

So don't fret, I hope you enjoy the chili it has become a favorite of mine, doctored up of course :)

You might also want to keep a few extra packets on hand at work or in your car for emergancies suck as you can't stomach the meal you brought, something goes wrong while cooking (exploding soup anyone...) or you are behind schedual and starving in the car.

having the French Vanilla shake right now.

I was REALLY skeptical on this one as I am SUPER picky about vanilla. Not much of a vanilla fan and hate fake vanilla tastes. It's STUPENDOUS!

Having a hard time pacing myself for 15 minutes though. LOL :lol:

I wanna do the happy dance too!!! :yay: :yay: :yay: Once again, I can't wait to start. Well, yesterday I was going to order, but bf and I decided to wait until thursday when I get paid so I can order the month supply. It is so funny! Ever since I found out about this program and decided to give it a shot, I have been on cloud 9...and I haven't even ordered yet! :lol: I guess I just really believe this is going to work! At the end of every day, I tell myself, that this is one less day of being overweight! :trophy:

I'm not sure if that is a requirement, or just a suggestion to keep you from getting hungry. Personally, I practically chug the shakes and drinks. I don't know if I am supposed to do that or not, but it hasn't caused me any problems so far.

We suggest that people :toast: sip their shakes and Medimeals - try to make it s-t-r-e-t-c-h out to 15-20 minutes. The reason is that it takes a while for the stomach to tell the :hammerhead: brain that it is satisfied and for the brain to let the rest of the body know that the hunger and fuel needs are taken care of...

I used to :eat: wolf my meals - part of that came about because teachers have virtually no time during the school day to themselves - they are constantly engaged from the moment the students arrive until the lights are turned off in the classroom.

:roflmao: "Lunch Hour" is a joke...it's more like lunch moments! Many of you can relate as we cram our days with so much stuff. Take time to enjoy your Medimeal, allow it to awaken your senses, taste the flavors, relax, think thinny thoughts - these are the days you learn how life after the weight loss phase will be.

Once we lose the lardage, we continue to plan our meals way before meal time occurs, eat on time, eat slowly, chew thoroughly, sip water in between bites and allow time for the food to register in the brain, gradually increase our activity level and stay accountable to others - it works! Nothing tastes as good as thin feels!

:hmmm: Now I know that life happens and there are times I chug a shake, too – it is not the best plan but hey, we do what we hafta do sometimes. When I do that, I notice that the meal often leaves me wanting more…

JOELIE,

You are doing just fine...in fact it sounds like you are doing super fine. You've done your homework and it will pay off in BIG pounds vanishing into thin air! :lightening:

We've been waiting on pins and needles along with you until your stuff came. :nutz: We want you to like it, just like we do...and even more so as time goes on. Give everything you've received a fair 'shake', :coolnana: and you'll find ways to love it! :heart:

There are so many things you can do to the shakes and soups to vary the tastes and textures, :chef: (like adding cut up celery to the chicken soups, and Mrs. Dash flavorings and the Davinci SF syrups) by letting your imagination go wild! :bouncie:

WHEW, it was a long wait, but it finally happened! :yes:

The chili was KILLA!!! I really enjoyed it! This was another one I was worried I wouldn't like much...I was afraid it would remind me too much of eating meat. LOL Not the case though. ;)

I understand that it helps you from getting hungry, but does it actually do anything to the body that would hurt the play? I am never hungry, to be honest. I just don't really like the taste of the shakes that much, so I chug them down.

When it comes to the actual "food" like bars, pudding, or my lean and green, I definitely take my time...but with the drinks and shakes, I don't.

If I need to spend more time with the shakes I will.

hi joelie!
i think that it is just too cute that you have giving us all a play by play of your first day :lol: you have been so eager and prolific on the boards before even beginning, and now that you are on your way you can see for yourself! i know that you will love it and continue to look forward to each meal. i know i do! i even ordered a bunch of samples of different things so that i can try everything. it really is delicious, and you know that means something coming from a chef! and don't worry if you think that you don't like something, you will later ;) :) i am sure you know about the da vinci syrups and all the advice/ideas on the lean cuisine board, so just go to town!
i can't wait to see how ecstatic you are at the end of your first week!!
