Yahoo and quick question?

Postby Katballou » September 22nd, 2006, 5:54 am

Good Morning to all. Package came yesterday, get to start a week from Monday so excited! Just wondering what I can put on the oatmeal? Soymilk with splenda? We don't eat it dry, do we?
I took 7 large ziplocks and put 5 meals in each put those in kitchen drawer, so am ready for my first week. Just grab one for each day and do it again the next week.
:) :) :) Thanks for your help Kat

You are supposed to use hot water as the label says.

by "eating it dry," I meant after it is prepared with hot water. Then are we allowed milk and splenda? I will go to the recipe forum and check it out. Thanks everyone for your help, Kat

Personally I don't think another liquid is needed - if you use rt amt of h20 the consistency is sort of milky. Sort of. ;)

For me the Oatmeal took special care to make, I use a bit more H20 and LOTS of approved spicing. Same with the soups, I like spicier foods, so tobascco is my friend. You will play around the first week and find your own special mix, just do not cheat, sounds simple, but it is easy to say oh it's only a liittle cheat, stay with the approved. After saying that I hope tobassco is approved...I am off to check. GOOD LUCK!

Hi Kat, soymilk is not listed in the Quick Start Guide. The 'rule' is: if it is not in the Guide, it doesn't go in your mouth! :) I know what you mean as far as adding some milk to oatmeal, as I used to do that, in my 'past life', :( but trust me, you can really get used to doing without the milk. If not, there are so many other MF choices, that will keep you totally compliant with the program they outline. Just stick with the program, and try not to 'tweak' it with personal choices. The program works better and rapidly, according to one's individual metabolism, if followed exactly! Wishing you the best success!! :)

Sorry for the misunderstanding! I usually add a few packets of splenda and brown sugar to mine.

This is how I have personally decided to make my oatmeal when I make it as oatmeal (as opposed to mini muffins or pancake cookies.
For the blueberry (used to be French Vanilla Berry, but I love this new blueberry flavor)... I just add a packet of splenda.
To the maple and brown sugar I add a pack of splenda and 1 pump of Torani SF English Toffee.
To the Apple Cinnamon I add i pack splenda and 1 pump Torani SF Caramel
I detest the Peach.. so can't halp there.
Hope this helps.

The apple-cinnamon with caramel DaVinci is my absolute favorite. I also use blueberry DaVinci in the vanilla berry (haven't gotten the new blueberry yet; I'm hoping it's almost the same). Maple and brown sugar, I leave alone.

I add Splenda (or SweetzFree) and cinnamon to all three.

And I'm with Mike. I didn't care for the peach. I know others have raved about it, though.

Definitely don't add milk, though, soy or otherwise.
