Do a search in the lean cuisine section....lots of info about the chili there! Hopefully you will find some good ideas there.

Personally, I always let it soak for a while before cooking it, like a couple of hours. Some let it soak overnight. Then I add onions and salsa when I cook it. Makes it much better to me.

I just had it for lunch - I love the Chili!

I follow the microwave directions exactly and the beans don't end up hard for me. I nuke it for 2.5 minutes, let it sit for 1 min., nuke again for 1 min., then let it sit for about 5 minutes. I've started putting in broken up crackers (MF snack) in it too. Yum! :bib:

Maybe do a search, I think I've read that some prefer to cook it on the stovetop to soften the beans.

Kim,

Do a search in the Lean Cuisine forum; you will get lots of ideas.
Initially, I didn't like the Chili -- big disappointment; now I like it.
I soak for a while; or cook for a time on the stove. Then: add salsa -- it makes all the difference in the world to me. Hope it works for you.

Seems we always have several shakers full of soup or chili sitting in the fridge here at the MMT cottage. As with any dehydrated food, it helps to give it a good soaking before cooking.

I do the same thing, Unca. I keep some chili and minestrone and chicken noodle sitting in the fridge, ready to go, and never have trouble with beans or noodles being too crunchy.

JUST WANTED TO SAY I SOAKED MY CHILI YESTERDAY, AND WHEN I ATE LATER ON, IT WAS PRETTY GOOD. NO CRUNCHY BEANS. THANKS, YOU'VE CHANGED MY MIND ABOUT THE CHILI. I WAS NEVER GOING TO ORDER IT AGAIN. NOW IT'S OK. :)

THANKS

Glad you like it better, Kim. Now if someone can just fix the cream of chicken for me ...

The chili is one of my favorites... I have "taco salad" and feel like I'm cheating... (lettuce, chili and MF crackers mixed together...)
