I think I read somewhere (maybe in the Medifast Quick Start???) that you could try cutting up the bars to eat them more slowly. They are definitely yummy and I do admit to looking forward :pace: to my daily bar. Well today, it was about an hour after lunch and too early for my 2pm bar, so I cut my PB bar up into small pieces. I SLOWLY munched on 1/2 a bar for about 1/2 a hour. It's not quite 2pm yet and I still have the other half of my bar waiting for me. But I'm good for now. I will finish the rest later but I'm surprised that actually worked.

bars

Postby LoriO » September 13th, 2005, 10:19 pm

That is a great tip! I am going to do that with my bars when I get my order. We are so used to eating fast that we have no idea how much we are consuming. This will help me take my time! :D

Nothing like looking forward to that 2 inch piece of bar waiting for you in a baggy.
Boy, do I look forward to that.
I'm putting that in the "You know you're an MF'r" thread.

Mommy2 Girls and LoriO ~

Many of us are so used to wolfing down our food that we hardly taste it and as we make changes in our eating habits, we need to eat slower, drink plenty of water along the way and allow our stomach to tell our brain that we are satisfied.

Have a tasty and thinny day, Folks!

(Ladyhawke...it's interesting that a lot of Medifasters have empty baggies in the bottom of their purses, briefcases and desk drawers. Usually there are no crumbs though because we lick them clean!)

Oh yes, I have definitely eaten the bars FAST and it is just SOOOOO true that you enjoy food so much more when eaten S-L-O-W-L-Y. I love the bars in a baggie thing! :bib:

Be sure to have plenty of :water: with your bar; it will plump it up in your stomach, giving you the feeling of fullness and it will be longer-lasting, too.

Sometimes having several cups of herbal tea prior to or with the bar pieces helps to satisfy the "urge to splurge."

I hear you about cutting up the bars.

This past Saturday, I somehow got stuck on the FoodNetwork (the devil's channel). Anyhow, time for a bar was coming and well, maybe I was inspired. I chopped that thing up into peices the size of Peanut M&M's and put it in a heart shaped little bowl I have. Got myself glass of water, sat back down and very slowly ate it peice by peice.

Who knew that the bar tasted SO good. By slowing down and appreciating each and every bite it was way more like a treat. I actually felt a little naughty because I enjoyed it so much and it was SO good for me.

Hah! So you do that too, huh???

Why is it that we find ourselves reading Food Day Magazine, watching the Food Network, etc.? What kind of sick-ohs are we anyway?

Those teensy morsels make being losers a lot more enjoyable, eh? Great idea to serve yourself in a cutesy wootsey bowl, too.
