Would you eat this?

Postby Lulie » June 23rd, 2006, 7:31 pm

Hi,

Just needing some help planning my next L&G.

I wanted to try to eat these:

Butterball Chicken Breast Strips

3 oz serving

90 calories
1.5g fat
2g carbs
0g sugar
18g protein

Do you think it would be safe to eat 6 or 7 oz of this? Or should I avoid it like the plague! LOL

I really want something different for my L&G. I am getting bored.

Thanks in advance for any replies.

They don't sound toooooo bad. But I personally wouldn't eat them except in a pinch, because I'd rather just cook my own chicken breast and then cut it into strips if I wanted strips for some reason. I'm not sure what makes these so different from regular chicken breast (other than that they obviously added some junk that increased the carb count).

I tried those strips, or something similar to them at the beginning of my MF trek and was amazed at how much 6 ozs of chicken strips amount to. You might want to check out the Sodium content on them. As I recall, after I ate them I felt pretty loggy and puffy. Personally, I've got problems with sodium. But if water retention isn't a concern for you, then it probably wouldn't be a problem.

I would say negative on those. They have a lot of sodium. When I first did the program back in Jan I was eating them every day. I wasn't losing much. I went back to just eating regular chicken breasts and tenders cooked on my Foreman. BIG difference.

Thanks everyone. I will probably only eat them when in a bind. I truly didn't catch the carb amount. Or I should say it didn't sink in until I read the replies! I need to be more careful.

I think I will use them for days I am in a hurry and can't cook, etc. That will probably be all though.

I just wanted something different.

Thanks again.
