Hey Sheila, don't you own a salon?
If your a licensed cosmetologist you can purchase it yourself at a beauty supply store. I have a license and at my cost its really quite affordable. My mom uses it with great success.

If you happen to own a different type of salon, ie:tanning, you can probably purchase through another salon.

Wow Alex, that's really amazing, what a great story and backing for Nioxin. It can only do GOOD I say.

I haven't had any hair loss. As a guy though, I wouldn't be too bothered if I did. I would just shave my hair.

I'm sure it's tougher for women.

Dibbida, it doesn't happen to everyone. I've never had any hair loss, and I've been on the program over a year. I take 3,000 mg of fish oil a day and usually 1,000 mg of vitamin C, but no other supplements.

I can buy Nioxin at Sally Beauty Supply and I don't have a license. I can also buy it from a beauty supply at the mall, but I don't remember the name of the store. I usually just get the set (shampoo and conditioner). I buy the small bottles and they last a long time. I use it about once a week, just for a deep cleanse to my hair, and the "tingle" it gives. Kind of like Tea Tree Oil shampoo. I started taking Biotin. I bought a "mega biotin" from wal mart. It is generic, and one capsule has 5 mg. It was the highest dose I could find. I also started flax seed oil capsules. Seems to be helping keep things going, as well. And, I started taking cinamon capsules. Cinamon is supposed to help with the breaking down and using of sugars and insulin. I feel better since starting it, not so sluggish. But, if I burp, all I taste is cinnamon. My husband asked me how it was when I sh!t. I said, "Well, I haven't tasted it. If you are asking if it smells like cinamon, no it doesn't" Men can be so weird.

I've got a dumb question. Mom, you said that Nioxin tingles like tea tree. Is it safe for color treated hair? My hair dresser says not to use tea tree because it can strip the color.

Maybe if you lose any on your head, Alex, you could just grow the butt and back hair long and brush it into the ultimate comb-over!!

Nioxin is fine for color treated hair. I have a license but also made sure with my hairdresser. Your right, Tea Tree is not.

Not all Nioxin is formulated for color treated hair, you have to make sur and read the label this it for color treated or for normal hair. They make both.
