Worth it?

Postby GuestinJapan » June 26th, 2007, 8:06 am

Hello everyone,

My Husband and I are thinking about doing Medifast....but is it worth it? Or is it a gimmick? I'm at my wits end. I have PCOS and weight problems. I've been doing my research and it looks to be truthful.....but will it work for me? I need to lose 60 lbs and my Hubs needs to lose 30 lbs.

-Thanks

All you need to do is read through these forums and you will see plenty of evidence that MF works and is not a gimmick. It has been around for a long long time and is used by the medical community in addition to individuals doing it on their own. (Go ahead and register so you will have access to all the information on this site. As a guest your access is limited.)

However, it isn't a magic bullet either. You have to do your share and follow the program as directed. If you have the desire and ready to commit to getting the weight off, this will work.

When I started I needed to lose 60 lbs. 10 weeks later I have lost almost 30. I feel great and have full confidence in the program and my ability to lose the rest.

It is wonderful that you and your husband will be doing this together. You can share the journey and support one another.

Good Luck!
Reached Goal Nov 2007 61.5 lbs lost
Gained 11 lbs in Mexico 3/08, decided to lose that along with another 5 lbs!

Oh Hunny let me tell you.... WORTH IT is an understatement please go to the studio section and look up the photo's for Bikipatra that will answer all your questions she is such an inspiration to many on this board and not to call her out but if you read her journal she has lots of battles to sort through (biki please don't be offended or feel like the light is only on you but I can help what I observe ;-) and is an ABSOLUTE MARVELOUSLY INSPIRATIONAL MEDIFAST STATUE that we hear on the board value (i'm sure i'm not speaking for myself) and look forward to every single day, I think of her when I have my struggles and restarts she has really shoveled the snow, laid down the law, and of course I could go on and on and I'm sure she will chime in if she hasn't by the time I finish this post! Please jump in the ocean has enough room for you and your S.O.

Look forward to hearing from you,

Nichole

I would be foolish not to use you and I mean it's really your words and 211 page journal that kept me going yesterday! I restarted I'm going to start a new journal and come in everyday to work and update it!

Coming from one hubby/wife team to another... yes, it definitely works.
Diana has PCOS also, and we all struggle with similar issues.

I take Glucovance which is metformin/glyburide but you may have to adjust your dose. Let your doctor know what your starting and keep him informed. and keep checking your bloodsugar!!!!
when i started this my blood sugar was averaging close to 200 over the last two weeks my blood sugag has been an average of 93.

I was taking 2 5/500 glucovance twice a day Actos once a day and Byetta shot twice a day. I am only taking one Glucovance 5/500 twice a day now

Good Luck

Worth every dollar you spend. I tried so many other programs and they just didn't get the job done like MF. Remember first and most of all it is not a DIET, it is a program that will make you healthier and thinner. I'm sure you are aware that they have a diabetic program so that shouldn't hinder you in any way.

I don't have a sugar program but I did have a cholesterol problem. It dropped from 250 to 196 without any meds. Follow the program as written, drop in here for support and you are on your way.

I started Medifast November 22 of last year. By January I was taken off Actos and told my type II diabetes was in remission. I test like a normal diabetic-free person now.
