I woke up starving

Postby AmandaRose » January 2nd, 2007, 12:35 pm

Yesterday I woke up starving which was very unusual for me. Typically I have my shake and I am fine. I had my shake and felt like I just drank air nothing and all day nothing but hunger today I am still feeling a little hungry. I am wondering how I know if I pushed myself out of ketosis.

Here is what I ate day one
Shake
Shake
Oatmeal
Shake
Two eggs and 11/2 cups steamed broccoli
Chi latte

All my water and two airborne drinks you know the ones for immune support?

Day two I had the same thing and then for dinner I had
A soy patty, one slice of tomato and broccoli

Now I am .5lb more this morning and hungry not as hungry as yesterday though.

Do you think I pushed myself out with the airborne stuff? It says it has no carbs and no sugar but it has citrus acid and it tastes sweet to me.

Me no understand. If it is only day three you are still going INTO ketosis so hunger would be normal. The first time I was on Medifast (thankfully not this time) day three I cried myself to sleep I was so hungry and prayed to god to just let me sleep so the hunger would end. So I don't know what to tell you. The rate of entry into ketosis is different for different people.

yep, it can take 3-5 days to get into ketosis. Keep at it. Looks like you're doing fine with your supps.

One thing - If you're hungry, eat meat for you L&G (are you a vegetarian? I forgot). It's bulkier than eggs and will fill you up better.

You can also take advantage of your snacks if you need them. Celery OR pickles OR a Medifast snack OR bouillon. If you're really desperate, you can have an extra supplement (but I'd go with a lower-carb one).

Yes. The snack really helps. Like Serendipity, I also find if I eat eggs it does not fill me up as much as chicken or beef. Remember, we have scrambled eggs as a supplement now. So if you like eggs, order them, then you don't have to count it as a L&G meal. Also, adding flavored drinks such as Tazzo passion tea, or some other brand of no sugar drinks fills you up and is different than your water. Keep shakin'!
