Wish me luck... and strenghth!

Hi all! I haven't posted for a while, but I've been reading along. By the time I get home from work, it seems like I'm just so tired, I read for inspiration, really identify, then wait for more energy on the weekend to contribute!

It's a marvelous day in western PA and my hubby and I are headed out for a long bike ride on our rails-to-trails path today. I'm a little nervous about that since he usually won't settle for less than 20 miles at a time. That has never been a problem in the past and we have often gone up to 40 or more, but not since I've been on this lo-cal/lo-carb intake plan. I'm going to have a sports shake before we go and take a bar with me along with a lot of water, but I hope I don't run out of physical fuel! I'll let you know how it goes, but if anyone has any advice before we head out, feel free to let me know. We first have to get the chains oiled, tires pumped up, etc. Thanks!!
Lara

Can you bring an extra shake in a thermos or some kind of cooler? Wht a fun day! We love to do those long rails to trails biking too! When the kids were little and in the trailer behind the bike it was easy and fun. Then it got hard when they were little and couldn't ride too long or fast but now they are bigger we are enjoying it again!

Have a great time and be careful! Maybe take 2 extra shakes it possible! My DH wears a backpack for all of our food/gear when we are doing long rides!

Thanks for the idea, Donna! I'll try to bring extra shakes. Depending on which way we go, we'll have access to water and I can take my shaker and packets, but if not, I'll have to pre-mix or at least take bottled water. My DH is also a great pack mule! ;) I hope on this trip I can get him to go a little slower pace. He's 6'1" and his long legs tend to pedal much faster!!
Thanks again!
