Ahhhh....a place to stretch out my thoughts, how nice it would be if I could get my brain cells to rub together like my thighs so I could come up with something original to write.

Where to start with this new found space.

How about the basic info. I am 41, married with children....2 monsters err...I mean boys, 1 dog and some fish. A nice house in the burbs, a decent job and I have the white picket fence on order. Should be delivered next week. It is amazing what you can get at Land's End these days don't cha know! Ohhh and I also enjoy sunsets and long walks on the beach.

During the past 6 months I have made a commitment to get healthy so that I can at least make an attempt at living long enough to see my youngest (4.5 year old) graduate college and maybe then some.
Last year at Thanksgiving I started by giving up my tobacco habit that I have had for the last 20 odd years. And this April I decided it was time to face the weight issue head on.

So here you find me today focused on losing this albatross that has consumed my thoughts several hundred times a day. So far I have been at this for 8 weeks and have had great success. I plan on riding this success all the way down to onederland by the end of the year. The goal may be a little aggressive but I love a challenge.

to be continued......

Random thoughts...

-Anyone else out there watching Entourage on HBO. Jeremy Piven rocks!
-NSV of the week Part 1.... didn't need to use the seat belt extender on the plane out to Vegas!
-At my current weight loss rate I should weigh nothing by June of next year.
-To the lady of the evening that referred to me as "Big Daddy" on my walk back from the Bellagio...Not in this or any other lifetime!
-NSV of the week. Part 2.... I can now get in and out of my wife's minivan with the seat positioned where she left it when she got out.
-Will the light inside of my refrigerator burn out less often since I hardly open the door anymore?
-Even if I do get to Onederland, the chances of me wearing a thong will still be non-existent.
-How fast do you work into a conversation with someone that you just met that you have recently lost weight? Takes me as little as 2 minutes. Less if I ordering lunch.
-Anyone else watch High Stakes Poker on the Game show channel?
-Any one else think about doing a daily picture of themselves to see their weight loss in slow motion?....I need to consider this.
-And finally....my muffin tops are shrinking!

That's all for now....maybe I will write something a little more serious tomorrow.

Star Log - June 15th, 2006 8 something AM - Day 62 of the journey to Thindom.

Uneventful night on the bridge. Compliance was the word of the day yesterday. Menu consisted of 2 shakes, a fruit and nut bar and on lean/green lunch. The digital scale for human measurement seems to be broken. Every day the numbers seem to go lower and never seem to reach the weight of the day before. Need to check if there is a different gravitational pull in the bathroom. Again, today the word that is being used is compliance. Lunch may present itself with temptations. Will need to make sure that adequate hydration has taken place prior to noon.

Weighing nothing by June sounds fantastic! Make sure you take a picture of that for me! 8)
Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts.

Start Weight 326.7 ~ My short term goal will put me at 250!

TGIF!!! 9 weeks on MF and still going strong.

Thursday went well though I slipped a little at lunch. Had a Caesar salad with grilled tuna. Told them to hold the croutons and go light on any cheese and dressing. They held the croutons but the salad was loaded with shredded carrots. Was able to pick around those fairly well but the dressing and cheese was fairly prevalent. Didn't seem to be an issue cause I was down a pound this AM.

So far in 9 weeks I have lost almost 15% of my body weight and when I look at my 4 year old I realize that he has litterally jumped out of my body. What really hits home is when I pick him up...the kid is too heavy to carry for any length of time....But previous to MF I was walking around 24/7 with that weight on me.

Random thoughts...
Never buy your children a pet that is nocturnal.
NSV - Had to buy a new belt this week!
Why do we drive on parkways and park on driveways?
THAT'S OKAY -This is one of the most dangerous statements that a woman can make to a man. "That's Okay" means that she wants to think long and hard before deciding how and when you will pay for your mistake.
and finally....
My muffins are shrinking!

Peace!

Saturday....day 64 on journey to a fit body and mind...okay fit body. The mind is shot not chance or reversal there.

It was a good morning I touched the 50lb's gone mark. I am not ready to jump up just yet on my soap box. I like to see a few days at that weight before I officially jump up and down and get in a few high fives.

Though the weekends haven't been as tough on me as late....actually they have been good for my weight loss. After cutting the grass and doing some lawn work we head to the club we belong to and go swimming with the kids for a few hours. As long as I can stay away from any snack food I will golden!

Anyone else hate this time of summer? I look at the calendar and everything that we have going and realize it will be september before I know it. Oh well...if all goes right when September comes there will be a lot less of me!

Anyway....not sure how much I can post this weekend. My cable modem is shot and I am getting limited wireless coverage from my neighbor's so hopefully this will get posted and I can join the 50lb club tomorrow at roll call.

Can't wait for the Medi-Brain to come out.

You're in the 50# club whether you like it or not. No turning back once you mention it around here...:)

Well Happy Father's Day to me!

Yesterday was a great day!!! I spent it with my wife and one of my son's. The other was off this weekend to his Dad's. :( Yesterday was a full and somewhat compliant day. I had a shake for breakfast and a bar mid-morning. Prior to lunch I spoke with our travle agent about our summer vacation. We decided to take our boys to an all inclusive resort in the Dominican Republic. Hola...seniorita! We are doing that in August so I still have time to lose a few more lbs. so I can break out my speedo's

For lunch all of us went to Joe's crab shack for and early Father's day meal. I had some crab, lobster, and shrimp and broccoli. I over ate on the portions of the seafood but it was steamed and I wasn't dressing it up with butter or cocktail sauce. (okay once I dipped some lobster in the butter but then I quickly gave the butter to my wife!) After lunch we went out to the club that we belong to and I went off and played 9 holes of golf and my wife and sun went to the pool and went swimming. I joined up with them after the golf and cooled off in the pool for a little while.

We topped off the evening by watching the movie Glory Road and having a shake.

All I can say is that I would like a repeat today except the grass is calling and needs to be cut, and it looks like it may rain later. So that means I may get a chance to watch the US Open on the tube! Overall it has been a good weekend. Although not 100% compliant I am down 7LBs' for the week and am in the 50lb club!

Here's to another good week; though there are some challenges on the horizon I know I have the focus to overcome them!

Random Thoughts....

I am like a static machine at work everything I touch I get a spark. Is it the combination of wool suit pants and my thighs rubbing together? Hmmm... will know better in a few months when I no longer have the thighs.

NSV favorite golf shorts are now too big to wear anymore.

Anyone hear of the movie "Goal"? Saw the trailer last night...looks awesome!

Albino gecko's make a weird hissing noise when they a poked with an index finger.

51.5 lbs in 65 days....I am losing weight at a rate of .033lbs/hour! In the immortal words of the wicked witch of the west...I'm melting!

Speaking of the wicked witch of the west anyone seen "Wicked"? I've got tickets for the show in 3 weeks. Can't wait....looks very good!

and finally.....

My muffin tops are SHRINKING!

Toodleloo!
