Why we should drink our water

Postby katieb920 » February 12th, 2007, 1:08 pm

So I was in Walmart today. And I found this great huge Water Jug to drink out of. It holds 64oz at a time. But the cool thing is It gives you reasons why you should drink your water

Water regulates the temperature of the human body, carries nutrients and oxyden to cells, cushions joints, protects organs and tissues, and removes wastes.

Here are the Facts
: The Body is 80% water
: We need to drink at least 1/2 our body weight in ounces of water.
: Water remvoes harmful toxins from the Body
: Dehydration slows down the body's metablism
:Lack Of h2o causes daytime fatigue
: Water plays a role in almost every body function

Here are some water stats
75% of the US population are chronically dehydrated
37% of the US population mistake thirst for hunger
98% of dieters use water to deter hunger pains

Fact: A mere 2% drop in body water can trigger fuzzy short-term memory trouble with basic math problems and difficulty focusing.

And something a little cute it says on the cup
WARNING : Water is energizing and refreshing. It may give you the urge to get off the couch.

I thought this was cute so here you go.

That is cute!

A doctor once told me that he feels guilty taking people's money because 98% of all "women's issues" could be cured by drinking adequate quantity of water consistently - he said everything from PMS to ovarian cysts to irregular menses. However, he said women don't take his advice - they prefer a prescription or surgery.

So true

Postby dede4wd » February 13th, 2007, 10:27 am

So true...I mean before I started this MF journey. I don't know if I drank ANY water. I LIVED on Diet Coke! I'm not even sure if I had any water. My urine used to look like...almost Jello! Now...I crave it! I feel TERRIBLE if I don't get at least 100oz in. Yet another benefit to the lifestyle changes I'm making (that and getting acquainted with loos all over the country!)

Nat, that was amazing what your doc said!

Think I'll go and pour me another glass of that precious stuff. Thanks!
