Why Medifast is for me!

Postby JeweloftheNile » October 6th, 2004, 8:29 am

I am really enjoying this plan!

I always knew, that if I found a healthy plan, that didnt require me to spend every evening in the kitchen chopping and dicing then i would be successful.

Medifast is the one! First I have learned something from every diet I have been on. But when life got hectic, it was hard to keep up with all the preparations and I would return to fast food or what the kids were eating.

Medifast allows me to make time for me and my days are no longer consumed with meal planning. I still plan and take my food with me when Im on the run, but it's much easier to throw some packets and a shaker in a bag then it is eggs, chicken, salad etc. I just have to decide what to eat and it's ready in minutes!

I don't have to cook 2 evening meals and I have cut my grocery store visits significantly.

Even with my small vacation deviations, I know that I was enjoying the plan and excercise and the way I feel so much that I would continue. There's enough variety that I dont get bored and the food is excellent!

I am so glad I found Medifast and a plan for future well-being!

Reasons it is/was for me:

Not in any specific order…

Physical appearance obviously.
Health.
Fitting in comfortably, worried about peoples views. (YES WE ARE)
Fitting in comfortably – physically.

I think the HUGE benefit of the program (and I chose the full fast) for 4 straight months, besides losing the weight was to rid myself of 40 years of bad habits. Now that these 4 months have passed (9 months ago) I can and am relearning, and establishing new healthy habits, because I DO NOT WANT TO EVER BE FAT AGAIN. Call a spade a spade, I like eating, I am really not so much concerned with getting in my 29.2 servings of veggies, or my 36.8 servings of fruits, but truly learning what I can successfully eat, in quantities, and maintaining my current weight. But hey, interesting side note, veggies and fruits are pretty darn good, if I do say so myself!!

Old habits are hard to break, but at least we can “shake” them up a bit.

My reasons, my 10 cents.

I chose MF because

a) the rate of weight loss is phenomenal
b) it's soy based which seems healthier than the milk based slim fast and
c) John Hopkins validated and recommends it

This forum is the added BONUS I found while on Day 5 of the plan, and
of course the EXTRA VALUE is meeting all the MF gang members here!

Medifast is the one for me!

I choose MF because... ditto to the things Camille said! I knew if I didn't do a plan that allowed me to lose quickly, I would lose motivation. I also wanted something to give me more protein in my diet, but that still supplied adaquate carbohydrates.

My personal motivators--
1. My daughter. To have the positive attitude and be active physically
with her like she deserves. Also to be a role model for her.
(We all know kids often pick up their parents eating habits, and
I don't want her health and self esteem to suffer like mine did.
2. Tired of food ruling my life. I've been "dieting" in one way or another
my entire adult life. This ENDS all that. It's NOW for me.
3. Appearance. ;) I'd be lying if I said I didn't want to look better, and
wear cute clothes for a change! Of course that's a big
motivator! I'm tired of dressing in baggy clothes that make
me look frumpy and old. Aren't we all!

I chose MF for a couple of reasons...

I saw it advertised on Lifetime channel - which had become my best friend because I was so food-hooked and unable to move and depressed and lonely that I sat in front of stories of "real" other people for hours and hours each week. At first I thought it was gonna be just one more debt on my credit card like all the other lame products I bought have been -BUT I decided not to just jump on the phone but first investigate what this was... scares me I could've just ignored this altogether! Anyway, I went online and read about the studies - had never tried anything like this - didn't even know what soy protein was before- so I said ok I'll try one more time what have I got to lose ---TRY ABOUT 150 POUNDS!!!!!!!

THEN IF FOUND THIS FORUM - AFTER LURKIN AROUND AND GETING AND LIKING AND HAVING SUCCESS WITH MF - I KNEW THIS WAS MY WINNING COMBO... ADDITIONALLY:

-I want to feel good about how I look
-I want people to tell me I look good
-I don't want to be in physical pain anymore
-I don't want to be in as much mental pain anymore
-I want (and have at this point) to be able to wear heels again
-I want to wear "slutty" clothes - short skirts, tight jeans, low cut shirts and yes, even wild animal prints like my hero LW
-I WANT TO FEEL FREE FROM FAT
-I WANT TO LIVE MY LIFE - NOT JUST WALK AROUND BREATHING EVERYDAY -----
-I DON'T WANT THOSE THAT LOVE ME WORRYING THAT I'M GONNA DROP DEAD OR NOT BE ABLE TO TAKE CARE OF MYSELF
-I WANT TO LIKE ME

GOOD TOPIC - I NEEDED A LITTLE GRATITUDE CHECK TODAY!

WE WILL DO THIS TOGETHER!!! :stroll:

Hurray to the "slutty clothes"! ;) I'm gonna buy the tightest, lowest cut sweater I can find and the tightest low-rise hip huggers I can squeeze my booty into! And all those cute summer "tineeey, weeny tops"... we're on our way!

Oh yeah!! Guido’s girls, that’s the ticket. I need to come up with a great "Guido Wear" line. I bet I can get a bunch of perfect models for “Guido Weekly” right here eh?

Leopard Woman is just checkin' in here. Hmm...slutty clothing? Moi?

Never! However, I am Very aluring! And well...leopardy!

For the first time in my life I can swim in the ocean during daylight hours! I am not afraid of being attacked by a shark because my swim suit is not black! When I weighed 265 pounds and wore black suits with skirts down to my knees, I was afraid a shark would mistake me for a seal and attack me. My latest swim suit has leopard swirls and bright hot pink flowers - believe me, sharks of all kinds see me swim by!

Terry and Unca protect me from predators!

Unca rented a Prowler and we are going cruising!
