Who wants to weigh in, in one month from now, with me???

Postby SharonR » July 27th, 2006, 3:18 pm

I had a thought after readying someone who watched Oprah and was told it's best to not weigh very often.

How about the 1st. of Aug. we weigh in and then not weigh again until Sept. 1st? Is that scary or what? I think I just started sweating... 8)

I'm serious, who would be willing to ride this rollercoaster with me?

I don't know if I can do that. I'll have to think about it. Seriously I'm not sure if I can handle it.

yeah well me either, I've felt sick ever sense I wrote that.. :nutz: BUT I will do it with anyone who will follow suit. I'm up for a challange. If the truth be told, in Aug. we are going on vacation for a week so I won't be home to weigh either. Now if I could just convence hubby to do it. He is a scale manwhore...hehe.

OK, Sharon!

I would be willing to do it... I am going to be away from home for at least two weeks and had already resigned myself to not knowing my weight during that time. So...I figure I can stretch it a couple more weeks if you can!!!

Your challenge might also help me stay on track while I'm gone!!! I do have some trepidation...but, I would join the game for that month!! I am not committed yet...just willing...

Wonder how many others would consider a month of scale liberation??? Interesting question!

I couldn't do it, either. Plus now that I'm so close, I want to know the MINUTE I hit my goal weight.

OKAY Sharon!

Since I am the one who brought up the whole OPRAH thing, I accept your challenge!!

I too, will be on vacation the last 1/2 of August, to DisneyWorld! While my family eats ice cream and chicken strips, (my children are boys; they and my DH burn it off quickly!)--- I will (hopefully) happily be drinking shakes. :wallwall:

Let's check in-

Marie :dooh: (what have I done?)

I'm in!! I have gone on strike against the scale, anyway. I will just send my scale to my mom so that I don't get tempted. She will keep yours too, if you want. She is good about that stuff. Won't even let me know where it is! I am not tempted to weigh on scales in the stores, because I am afraid someone will see my weight. Do ya'll know that my husband STILL has NO IDEA what I weigh. He had asked me how much I have lost and I told him. He asked me how much more I wanted to lose, and I said "A lot". He said he thinks that in about 10-15 more pounds I should be around 130 and that should be good. BOY is he dumb or what?? Maybe he is wanting "something", I just don't know!!

I'll join the fun Sharon! Sounds like a great idea. May have to put the scale away so I am not tempted. I've had been thinking of doing this anyway as I also watched that Oprah episode and had read other places to wait a month to weigh. My weight fluctuates a lot anyway and it does affect my mood.

You guys ROCK! I came home from work and was reading all you weaklings ;) and I was disappointed, then all the sudden the last half were willing to do it.

For all of you who say you CAN'T do I understand. In my mind I feel I can't. But I know if I say I am going to do it with a group of people I will do it. A week almost killed me. By the 5th day though I was getting use to not weighing and it was ALMOST alright...

I am so proud of all of you who are considering it! Think of how fun it will be to weigh and see how much you have lost in that month. No more weighing the same day after day, gaining a pound, losing a pound...just one final number at the first of Sept.

I'm Jazzed!

Let's all meet back here at the first day of Aug. and post our starting weight and let's see how strong we can be, WE CAN DO THIS!
