What's on YOUR ipod?

Postby Serendipity » June 19th, 2006, 1:17 pm

I admit that I love my ipod. love it, love it, love it! I also have a Bose speaker set for it and it has become my main stereo system at home. I haven't played a cd in ages, in fact, we got rid of our changer and boxed up all the cd's.

I arrange my music by the usual method, but I have playlists according to the group of friends we have over. We have a younger croud, a croud that's our age, and I play bridge with some.....uhhem.....seasoned ladies. Soooo, I have music covering all genres, lol.....the older ladies really really like Barry White, lol.

My preferences are scattered depending on my mood, but for the most part, I like to shuffle the whole list. My list consists of 70's, 80's, 90's, and current. Some of my favorite current artists are Joss Stone, Nora Jones, Damien Rice, Maroon 5 and others. From the 70's.....the Eagles, Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers, Aerosmith, Billy Joel, Elton John, George Michael, Van Morrison, Chicago, REO Speedwagon....and lots more. I also love Toni Braxton, Sarah MacLaghlin, Christina Aguliara, and Sheryl Crowe. Throw in some Michael Jackson, some Mary Chapin Carpenter, some Lionel Richie, .....oh man, I am addicted, aren't I?

I love music and listen to it most of the time at work and in my car and at home when I'm on the forum or cleaning, etc.

The real reason I'm posting this thread is to see if anyone posts anything I've missed that I just have to have!

What's on my Ipod???

Image

I love my Ipod and couldn't get along without it. Of course, I have every Madonna song that's ever been released, but I also have a lot of other stuff. I truly love top 40 pop music but I also love Jazz, especially Miles Davis and Diana Krall.

Vicky ~ I will NEVER buy another CD. My Ipod is so convenient and I love it. I am able to hook it up to my computer and download songs through Itunes for about 99 cents per song. Lovely thing when you only like one or two songs off of a specific CD. I can then move these songs around and group them into playlists for every mood. For example, I have this one playlist that I play every day on the way to work b/c it's peppy and gets me in a really positive mood ...

September - Earth Wind & Fire
Respect Yourself - Madonna
Rich Girl - Gwen Stefani
Get the Party Started - Pink
Waiting for Tonight - Jennifer Lopez

I have other playlists for other "moods". I also have a CD/DVD burner so I can make my own CD's for cars and such but I also have a little device that I can use to hook up my Ipod to my car and play it through the stereo speakers in the car.

When I purchased my Ipod, I was uncertain as to whether I would actually use the thing so I bought the Mini version which was about $200. I am definitely buying the top of the line model soon.

Let me know if you have any specific questions that I might be able to help you out with.

Vicky,

Picture a huge CD player that holds all of your cd's....hundreds. Then imagine being able to bring up any song you think of in about 2 clicks. Then imagine being able to organize your songs/albums/years any way you want. Then imagine all of that in a little box that's smaller than an index card and has pretty much no moving parts and is extremely easy to use because you do all the organizing on your computer and then you just plug the ipod into the computer. That's why I don't use my cd's anymore.

Oh yeah, and you can also import that free music that you all have, (I know it, don't deny it) as well as buy from itunes.

Jo ~ I may be the ONLY person in history that doesn't have any of the free music. Sharing networks freak me out. The last thing I want is to get sued by the recording industry.

Well, I have it from back when Napster was new and free and no one was saying whether it was legal or not....I haven't gotten any since whoever the powers that be made it illegal. IMHO, it was fun while it lasted.

I don't have one.... YET.

Went to the mall and drooled over them at the Apple store. I want the video ipod with 60 mb memory and black. That thing is so nice looking.

I have an old Rio player.

I like old 70 & 80's music. Clasic Rock I guess it would be called.

Soon I will join the IPOD club. :D

What's on my Ipod? EVERYTHING! Music from the 70s to now, mediation music, audio books, some lectures. I love it, but sometimes it's a little tedious going through the list to find something to listen to.
