What do you like?

Postby Lasi » July 20th, 2007, 10:02 am

Today is day 4. I am still deciding what I like and what I don't like.

Do most of you eat/drink the same things daily? I have only found 5 things I like so far.

I have tried one choc Women's joint and it is ok.

What are some of your favorites?

Chili (doctored up), pudding (made with Crystal Light instead of water), cocoa (either hot or made cold like a shake). And the oatmeals, although I hated them at first.

Your tastes will change while on the program. So it's worth hanging onto some of the stuff you don't like and trying it again later. You might also visit the Lean Cuisine section for ideas on how to prepare the meals more to your liking. But otherwise, I don't think anyone likes EVERYthing, so yes, you'll probably end up eating a lot of the same things over and over again.

I think everyone has a different method. I add a little bit of dried onion or onion powder, some chili powder and a quarter of a teaspoon or so of Better Than Bouillon chili starter. And water, of course. And then I let it sit in the fridge for a while so the beans soften up (I usually just make a few of 'em in advance and keep 'em in the fridge, so I can pull one out whenever I want). Micro for a minute or 90 seconds, and you're good to go.

Let us know what you think. The Lean Cuisine section has a TON of ideas for stuff like that. Using spices or sugar-free syrups and the like. (Apple-cinnamon oatmeal with a little sugar-free caramel syrup? YUM.)

I haven't tried a bunch of things yet...but I really like the chicken noodle soup. The minestrone was good, too. I always add a little garlic powder or spike seasoning...is that ok?

How do the woman's formula...the heart formula...the joint formula..etc. compare in taste to the regular? What are the pros and cons?

All the oatmeal, all the bars except the granola type, all the puddings, beef stew, chicken & wild rice soup, dutch choco shakes (RTD's and packets).

I don't like Medifast much, eh?

One of these days I might start doctoring again. I used to try to fix up the chili and did make it edible but I still didn't like it. I only eat what I lilke now and the most I do is mix coffee with my shakes or put some Splenda in my oatmeal. I am going to get some SF syrup eventually. It's only been 243 days, I still have time.

I love the tropical punch on a hot summer day with crystal light punch. Put it in the blender with tons of ice and it feels like a nice tropical cocktail...okay well I pretend...it is like a treat...I like the hot cocoa but I like it cold with ice in the bullet. Tastes like chocolate milk. My favorite is probably the tomato soup. Mixed with a bit of basil and I can't believe it is not butter spray tastes pretty yummy...I like the RTD dutch chocolate shakes..great for on the go. Caramel nut bars on my fav...and a bit a of treat. I like the Apple/Cin soy snacks too! Yummy! I am not a big fan of some of the other soups...the chili is okay..I think I am just a creature of habit...I bring my lunch to work and this is just easy to put together!

I agree with some of the other posts...my taste buds have changed along the way and things I didn't like at first I like now and vice versa.

I had the Women's Joint Choc and it was good. I used 3/4 cup water and used a had blender. I also added a bit of the SF carmel syrup to it. I might make it and put it in the freezer tonight.

Thanks for all the ideas. They will help. :)
