What do you eat for you lean and how often?

I'm just curious what people are eating for their lean portion. Before Medifast I never _ever_ ate this much meat so I sometimes wonder if I should try different stuff.

I usually eat chicken, but I have steak probably twice a week sometimes more. I have fish every couple weeks. I've had a boca burger with a side of cheese once, and I've had just cheese maybe twice.

It's horrible, but I've bought other meat substitutes which is what I used to eat a lot of. I haven't eaten them! I'm not sure if it's because I don't want to add the carbs or I'm not sure how much I'll like it without the rice or bread I used to have with it. The boca burger was darn tasty though. I don't think they used to taste that good to me. Of course I ate them on bread with a slab of cheese and condiments. I probably couldn't taste it!

How often do the rest of you eat different types of lean?

I have a 5 ounce hamburger, or 7 ounces of salmon, or 7 ounces of flounder, or stir-fried chicken. If I am in a daring mood I will make "meat sauce" with ground beef and chopped tomatoes.

I eat chicken too. I havent eaten red meat in about 15. Some times I have fish but not often. I have cottage cheese when I dont feel like cooking or if I make a non meat meal for the family. Mostly it is boneless/skinless chicken breast in some form. I like it ground and made into a burger.

I vary my lean alot.

grilled chicken
shrimp
hamburgers
steak
fish.....talapia, salmon
crab legs (we have a restaurant that has fresh 1 lb @ 13.95 weekly!)
lobster when I can get it.
tuna (made into tuna salad with WF ranch no cal dressing)
2 hard boiled eggs
1 egg and 3.5 oz. smoked salmon
omlette made w/2 eggs
pork chops
grilled chicken salad
grilled steak salad

I don't get fancy with preparation....when I cook, I usually grill the meat.

I've stayed away from shellfish and most fish because of the varied fat contents. You haven't had any problems eating things like crab and the like? Do you eat it every week?

I have shrimp or salmon 1-2 times/week. Crab legs at least once/month....more if we're out and about. No problems. I think Nancy said something about it being the good kind of fat.....

There's a post about it, but I'm too lazy this morning to find it, lol.

I eat ALOT of tuna but that's because I love it. I sometimes just throw 2 cans of tuna into a bowl of steamed broccoli or beans, add 1 tsp. of extra virgin olive oil, and mix it all up - delicious!

2-egg omeletts are excellent when you're in the mood for eggs.

I also have chicken alot and shrimp whenever I eat out. Hardly ever have hamburgers - maybe once or twice a month.

I don't know if I'm going to come out of my sleep stupor anytime soon. I caved and I have diet dr. pepper right now to try to snap out of it. It doesn't help I'm at work and it's rainy and dark out. :)

Thanks for the link. I may have to get some other fishes and stuff for my freezer.

I have grilled chicken breast, salmon (at least once a week), steak, ground sirloin patty, meatballs w/tomatos & basil & onions, fajitas without tortillas, pork loin, pork chop, mahi mahi, smoked turkey breast slices, ground turkey, kabobs of almost any kind, lamb chops, man i just go nuts. If I only get one meal a day of "real" food, I make it tasty!!

I am a chickaholic lol

but when I venture out I have steak, fajitas no wrap, pork chops, shrimp, crab legs *my fave*, anything turkey which I love too. We mostly grill ours just cause I dont cook LOL

I do cook everything I possibly can on the foreman. It's the easiest choice :)

I'm pretty basic. I usually eat teriyaki chicken and mushrooms, zuchinni, and brocolli (look at me, I like a new vegetable). I will occasionally have shrimp, and once every week or two, I'll have steak.

I recently discovered that I wasn't eating enough chicken. I have been buying frozen breasts since I started Medifast. When I began, almost all of the chicken breasts weighed about 10oz. frozen, and cooked to close to 7oz. It seems that they started packing them smaller, so for the past two months, I've been eating less chicken than I should have...and most of the time, I can actually have TWO chicken breasts now. It's really filling, but I have weighed them and it is the correct size.

I buy fresh chicken, and I don't weigh it cooked. I know I probably should. Anyway I target .5 lbs for a serving of chicken (thats 8 oz raw) and .38 lbs for steak (6.08oz raw). I know it's not perfect, but I have yet to find a food scale. It's not supposed to be this hard. I've looked in both Target and Walmart. OTOH I haven't weighed my meat yet, and I'm doing ok. The frozen fish I buy comes in 4oz filets usually so I cook 2.

I've been told that bath and body works sales them. Personally, I just bought a cheap postal scale from Staples and put a plastic bowl (that weighs 1oz.) on it.
