I got mine at William Sonoma, but it wasn't expensive and it adjusts the weight to zero to accomodate your plate.

That sounds nice. I'd like one that wouldn't require I use a special plate or bowl to measure on.

That's how mine is. It's just a flat thing, so you put your plate or bowl on it, hit a button to reset it to zero, and then add your food. Got mine at Target over where the cooking gadgets and utensils are. It was kind of hidden with all the other stuff, though.

If you get really desperate, go to your local Weight Watchers. They have good ones, too.

Oh, and my lean varies. Lately it's been chicken a lot, but I also have beef and lamb regularly. Fish/seafood mostly just when I eat out, which isn't very often these days, unfortunately. When I have salad, which is almost all the time right now for some reason, it's half a portion of chicken and half a portion of low-fat cheese.

I bought my scale at bed bath and beyond. I buy a lot there. It was pretty cheap, about 12 dollars, I think. My lean is basically Jo's list, with the addition of turkey fillets and meatballs with marinara sauce. I make the sauce so it is okay. I use grilled cabbage strings instead of pasta and it is really good. I also eat quail, pork tenderloin, tenderloin of beef and ground turkey. Oh--we also smoke ham and turkey quite often. I know, ham---a lean cut of pork??? But is really is pretty lean. My dad and my little brother breed and raise show pigs for FFA projects. They custom make all of the feed and the pork is all VERY lean. In fact, when you cook the sausage, you have to add some oil to the pan to keep it from sticking. The bacon also has very little fat in it. So, I do feel okay eating the smoked ham and I even sometimes eat the sausage because I know EXACTLY what all is in it. They breed it, cut it, season it, and freeze it. Pretty good stuff!!

I'm vegetarian but I do eat seafood...LOTS of it.

Tilapia, Cod, Mahi Mahi, Tuna Steak (my FAVE), Shrimp, Bay Scallops, Salmon.

Omelet ~ either 2 eggs or egg beaters
I keep forgeting about hard boiling them...I need to remember that.

Cottage Cheese ~ this is one of my faves...with tomato.


Got my scale of ebay. DIRT CHEAP.

I usually have 7 oz. of grilled chicken, salmon, scallops, shrimp, mahi mahi or tilapia (or some combo). Ocassionally I have 7 oz. of canned Albacore tuna. Twice I've had 5 oz. of pork loin. Oh, and once I had 1/2 the allowed albacore with a hard-boiled egg on my salad. Wow, just realized I've not had any red meat in the six weeks I've been on MF. Might be time to splurge and have a steak tonight! Also might need to make an egg beaters omelette!

I do weigh my lean at home, on a cheap little scale that I purchased many years ago. When I have my L&G at lunch, I just guesstimate the weight.

Supermom, I'm gonna try the grilled cabbage "pasta" thing. I have been having the meatballs with a little sauce and salad but I've never grilled cabbage befor and that sound cool. Do you just grill it in wedges and then slice it thin after?

My L&G are pretty boring and very dependent on how much cooking time I have. Plus there has to be a "normal" version that my hubby will eat.
I do a lot of chicken (bought a scale and Bed Bath and Beyond), ka-bobs are great when I have the time for all the prep. Onions carmelize and are the best.
One of my favorites is grilled tofu that has been marinated in soy sauce and minced garlic, I serve it over a green salad or use it to make stir fry.
When I'm not in a cooking mood Boca burgers are quick and easy, I have mine on lettuce. Hubby fixes a bun and usually eats some fries or potato salad with his. We've found the veggie burgers are better tasting than the real beef ones *shrug* not too surprising since neither of us like the texture/taste of steak and the only fish that enters our house is swimming in the tank.

I went to a chinese restaurant last night and I had steamed chicken and vegetables. I asked for some garlic sauce on the side, instead of the rather bland dipping sauce they usually serve it with. The biggest shock was how much food was there.

I weighed the chicken and measured the vegetables and it was a perfect lean and green. I think I've been cheating myself on the amount of veggies I'm allowed. I have always just measured out two cups and assumed that it would cook down to 1 1/2.

Even better is that apparently this meal works well on plan, because I dropped 3.5 pounds this morning.
