Went a little weak in the knees...

Postby MusicalMomma » February 7th, 2007, 10:41 am

Today the kids are home from school, sick. I was making their lunch...I pulled out the soft bread and the smell whafted to my nose...it began to call on me...THEN I opened up the Jif Chunky Peanut Butter...OH MY, I went weak in the knees when that glorious smell hit my senses!!!!! I spread the peanut butter, cut the sandwich in half, gave each girl a half...grabbed a pack of soy crips and RAN away from the kitchen!!!

I thought I was feeling stronger than this!!!! Isn't it funny how you can feel strong one moment, then in a milisecond, ya get floored by a smell or sight that sends you into a foody panic!? I mean, the pull of that stupid little peanut butter sandwich almost convinced me to cheat!!!

Oh Lord, help me!!! Will these feelings EVER subside????

They will, somewhat. And the good news is, someday you can have peanut butter again. I eat it almost every day in maintenance - just a tablespoon or so on an apple, but it's still heaven. (So no, at least for me, the LOVE of peanut butter never goes away. But I do have control over it now. Some days I even choose NOT to have it.)

You did good though, taking care of it in another way. No peanut butter was the right choice! Way to go!
