Weight loss in my feet?

Postby Joelie » April 7th, 2006, 1:13 pm

This is sooo embarrassing! But hilarious at the same time.
My freaking shoe fell into the toilet!

I've noticed lately my shoes are getting looser.
I really dislike my feet being totally enclosed so I'm ALWAYS wearing mule type shoes...most of the time anyway.
Well...I went for my millionth potty break a bit ago, pulled up my jeans (which btw are getting baggier and baggier :) ), flushed with my foot and as my foot was coming back down my dang shoe fell in the bowl! ACK!

THANK GOD the bowl was alreay filling up with "clean" water!
I still have 2 more hours of work left though.

Anybody else losing weight in their feet?

My sister started Medifast in the beginning of the year and after just two days on program her 4 yr old son asked her "Mom are you still on that diet" her response was "yes, am I skinny yet?" to which he responded "well your feet are!"

So you just might be onto something here!

WOOHOOO let's hear it for skinny feet.

Oh Terri...sorry 'bout that! :roflmao:

That's too cute, Lisa. :)

And now that I'm paying closer attention...I CAN actually see more veins and bones on top of my feet than I could before AND...I think I even see ankle bones!

I LOVE skinny feet! :woohoo:

So funny you should mention it! I thought my feet were one of the few parts of my body not affected much by my excess weight, but I went shoe shopping today and was shocked to find that my shoe size is a full size smaller than it used to be. Go figure!

Shrinking feet

Postby Jan » April 7th, 2006, 5:58 pm

Yup,
Those feet have fat too!!! Sooooo when we part with the fat the feet get smaller. And if you are like me -- when I used to go pigging out on something my feet would swell -- Gerrrrr Now they only swell when I fly hmmmm. I'm sure glad your shoe didn't go down the toilet. You would have been the "one shoed woman" for the rest of the day. Of course people would have wondered what happened to it . I thought things like this only happened to me

Yup, I lost a whole size. It might have been more but my darn big toe didn't see fit to get shorter just skinnier. It always adds about 1/2 a size which means my shoes don't fit like they should. i read about people who get them shortened. Ouch! i guess if you have enough money you can fix just about anything. Now if they would just come up with a way that I could eat what I want........... ;)

Hi, all.

While I haven't experienced it, my hubby lost 150 lbs and went down 2 shoe sizes!! You should see him slop around in his old 13 loafers around the house -- they look like clown shoes on him now!

It's a combination of factors -- yes, you lose fat in your feet just like the rest of your body, but there's also less pressure on your feet which reduces the amount they spread.

SHOE SHOPPING, HERE WE COME!!
Here's to our mutual success! :buddies: --Diana

:roflmao: Oh Joelie! I'm so sorry you lost your shoe in the potty! But look on the bright side, you now have lovely slim feet!!

I too have been diagnosed with shrinking feet. Went shoe shopping last night and asked for the usual size 8. Too big. Ok, a size 7 1/2...also too big! Uhhh...a size 7? Yup! It fit!!

Looks like all of us foot flushers need to go shoe shopping or risk getting soggy shoe syndrome! (try saying that real fast!)

Wow...I hadn't even thought about the feet having to spread out less with not so much weight bearing down on them. Maybe once I hit goal I won't have to buy wide shoes anymore. :)

Jolie...

I have the same "problem" with my feet. I noticed it a couple of years ago after I lost about 30 pounds... I went down a whole shoe size!! (Wish it came off my fanny first...but that's usually the last to go..)

My wides (which I definitely needed at my high of 275) are now lose on my feet, and the sandals which caused severe pinching last summer fit just dandy now. So, as long as the wide is not due to the actual structure of your foot, I'd say you stand a good chance of enjoying regular ol' widths. :D

That would great if it were to happen, but I think I've been overweight for so long, my foot spread is permanent. But a 7 or 7 1/2? Well, I can dream!
