A week and a day...

Postby ToyDiva » March 1st, 2006, 7:59 pm

Hi All,

So far so good. I started last Tuesday with my husband and I lost 10.6 pounds and he lost 14.6 pounds. He's upset ;) because percentage wise I did better. He's a nut! I'm just happy to see how easy this is to do. The recipe section of this forum was a lifesaver. I have created great MF meals because of all the wonderful suggestions and recipes. My only problem is I work out of the house and have two little girls and sometimes making their meals is a struggle. I haven't cheated at all, but have almost put some of their food in my mouth to test for tmperature. I have managed to catch myself.

I look forward to this journey with all of you!

Hi ToyDiva,
Welcome, and what a great start for you and your husband in just the first week.
That's great you have each other for motivation and support.
Keep at it and you'll continue to see losses as you reach your goal.

Hi Toydiva

Welcome to you and your hubby. It is so funny that your hubby got upset that you lost a higher precentage because I am always jealous of the men on here and the amount that they lose but in all seriousness the men on here rock!

Keep shakin that weight away

Great job! Men are so funny! My husband started on Monday and has lost like 7lbs or something. Makes me want to smack him ;) I'm just kidding... I'm glad he's on it. Now my mom in law is planning to join too!

Congratulations on your great loss!!! That's so great that your dh is doing it with you. My dh is ordering his today. He was really really skeptical and when I started last week..he's been eating right and really doing healthier than before, but he's exactly the same weight. Where I've lost. His Dr.'s scale says the same as ours at home....so anyway..now I'll have company at home and not feel like everyone else is pigging out and I'm drinking water while they have icecream.

I apologize now, I'm rather long winded sometimes, sorry.

Thanks for everyone's support. Just to get one thing straight, my husband wasn't really upset, hence the wink. It's great to be able to do this with him. Make's it much easier to be able to talk to him about what I'm going through and know he understands. He's just such a computer geek that he has our starting weights, current weight, BMI, % lost all set up in an excel file. He's an amazing man. Has never once commented on my weight gain and always makes me feel good about myself, even if I don't some days. Granted, it would be nice if he washed a pan more often , but I would't trade him for anything!

FluffyNoMore, I'm also long winded!

Hi TD and welcome to the forum,

Glad you're enjoying the forum and have a partner on the road to thinsville.

If your hubby's interested, have him take a look at this link. He's welcome to borrow any code he'd like. I'll send him an unlocked version if he'd like to play with it.

Hi Unca,

I will definitely pass on the link. I'm sure my husband will want to play around with it. He tweaks code all day, so you'd think he'd be sick of it at night, but not so.

Thanks for the welcome!

Hi Toy,

Glad you're here. I like your ladybug ticker! You and your keeper man should be sooooo proud! :yay:

You'll have fun dueling each other for first place, :fence: Pretty sure who will win, but who cares, you're doing it!

Keep it up! :puter:

My couple of pounds.. (Cents)

Postby She2chat » March 2nd, 2006, 8:57 pm

Hey,

Congrats!! You both must be doing something right. I "Only" lost 6 lbs my first week. However, I can really feel it in inches right now. My pants are totally loose..

I'm Jealous :shoot:

You guys are doing GREAT!!

As for testing your daughters food. I have actually done that with my boys, I just test for heat and done and spit it back out.. Feels weird, but at least I'm not eating it..

Yes, I was proud of myself. I did that that last night.LOL

My husband made Turkish Burgol (a very small pasta - YUM). I never had it like that before, so he wanted me to try it. Knowing how he is about food...(see the "Food Equals Love In Egypt" post here:
http://www.makemethinner.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=5131)

I put it in my mouth, said "mmm" walked away and spit it out without him seeing me, and without messing up my program!

Oh boy, I can't "tease myself" like that too often, though!

Great job ToyDiva + hubby 8) !
