On my way to success!

Postby Jagirl » September 22nd, 2004, 9:09 am

I just started the complete program yesterday and had a surprisingly good day! I loved the shakes, but wasn't to keen on the chicken noodle soup.
I have a meeting today in which pizza will be served for lunch, a little tough it might be for me, but with all the support from this site...it should'nt be a problem.
Thank goodness for this forum!

Howdy Jagirl!

Phew, pizza test on the second day. That's tough, but we're counting on your strong resolve. Just think, you don't want to go through Day 1 AGAIN! Have some nice hearty warm chicken or beef broth instead. Pizza is ENEMY NUMBER ONE. Drink TONS of water - you'll be beating a path almost constantly to the restroom, but you gotta rinse out all those fat cells your body is using up.

My first taste of the soups was NOT thrilling. I then used the suggestions in the Lean Cuisine section here, and that did the trick - now they're quite tasty! For chicken soup, I add an extra 2 cups water, 2 chicken boullion cubes, and 2 tablespoons Picante sauce.

Keepin my fingers crossed you make it through the pizza test! :tomato:

YEAH!!! :yippee: I did it! With some help from some H2O, shake and celery to crunch on I breezed through the meeting. Of course it made it a lot easier imagining the pizza on their thighs not mine :point:
Camille I tried your suggestions for the soup...Yummy!
Upon my 4th day, I find myself not hungry at all. I have to remind myself to drink my shakes. Is this normal?
Thanks again guys!

Hi, Jagirl. Sounds like you're on your way.

My experience is more along the lines of drink shake, feel content a couple of hours, and start getting hungry for another one -- but more power to you if you're more comfortable than that so early in the game. I still find myself surprised that I can be content with it in the first place, especially now that that's all I've had for almost 10 weeks (Sunday) and, to put it in the vernacular, I'm "not dead yet"! It seems to be engineered pretty well. At first, I don't mind telling you that I was sure I'd starve or pass out, but that has certainly never come to be. Instead, I feel alert, healthy, very much alive, and determined to keep going.

Good luck to you!

Yea Claire,

It happens to me some days still - where I overlook having a shake because I'm not hungry and I forget. As I related to Stacey in another post, I really felt weak the day after though. Used to have a mindset that skipping meals was ok and probably a good weight management strategy. I have had to completely retrain myself on this diet to have my MF supplements ON TIME. Skipping meals is not a good idea and especially on MF because Nancy says it will mess up your rate of weight loss (meaning slow not speed it up). Gotta stay on a good contant intake I guess to get your body to steadily lose. Good luck and kudos for doing SO VERY WELL on the first 3 days!!!

Keep us posted!

In regards to the Chicken Noodle Soup....I haven't tried that yet, however, at the recommendation of a MF user with some history I tried the Chicken & Wild Rice Soup and thought is was very good.

I'm a coffee freak and I've read in the forums here that the cappuccino is awesome.

Congrats on the pizza---that must have been tough. Almost a month in & I haven't had any carb cravings.

Have a great week!

I am starting MF next week when my order comes. But I'm trying some of the samples I got. I am drinking the hot cocoa right now. I added a packet of Splenda and it's wonderful. I'm thinking that this can be my morning "coffee" in the car (after my first shake). I wonder if the Latte stand girls will let me have a shot of espresso in my own cup? ;)

Hi Kim-

I am not too far ahead of you, this is my 7th day, and going strong. I couldn’t wait for my first shipment to arrive, I was so ready to start this program and a new life! There were just so many reasons for me to want to lose weight (at least 75 lbs), and I am on my weigh! I found the Cappuccino to be very satisfying, it takes the place of my morning cup of java!

Good luck and shake away!

Hi

Postby Kim » September 27th, 2004, 4:14 pm

Well, my order just got here!! I want to start tomorrow - but my husband I decided to start together on the weekend, which is probably a good idea. Tomorrow I work close to home but the Wed - Friday I will be "on the road" and in a hotel. So I probably better wait until I can be home for 3 days...The FedEx guy asked me how long the food I ordered will last - as it came in 4 boxes. I said "about a month" and he seemed surprised. Anyway - good luck Jagirl!!

I just started yesterday... when the fedex man brought my food it was only in 1 md. box and 1 sm. box with the crackers... I looked at it like... "that's it?" "Hey fed-ex man, you better go back to your truck or something for the rest"... ha ha.

You'll do great once you start out!
