I just wanted to chime in here and become a part of this group. I've been mostly sitting in the corner quietly enjoying the company of you all, but that's how I have spent much of my life, as an observer.

Started MF 7/24/04. This is 18 days for me and down 13 lbs. The scale has been obstinately sitting for several days just 3 pounds from the 200 mark, my next mini-goal.

I am a single mom. My kids take an annual 2 week vacation with their dad and I had planned to start a modified fast of my own devising during that time, when the MF option just magically appeared. How convenient. No choices. No weighing. No cooking. And I can still have a cup of cappuccino! It was a perfect time to begin.

My kids came home Sunday eve. and I am back to the real world. I now stand in awe of those of you who had to begin the program while functioning as chief cook and bottle washer!

Even if I am quietly sitting in the corner, I'm here at least a couple of times a day. Thanks for being there y'all!

Yeah, it's amazing - follow the plan and you lose weight! ;) I was playing around for so long and starting to blame the plan and not myself.

How does one pronounce sudaoning? Is it a name or word? (I'm a doofus)

Sudaoning Welcome! :wave:

What a beautiful name. I too cook for hubby but have been able to resist. Funny though, I DREAM of accidentally tasting what I'm cooking. I guess rather than a nightmare it's an eatmare? I wake up and think "Oh my God, I've stopped the ketosis after all this hard work!" :redhead: Then I remember it was just a eatmare. :dooh:

It's so hard not to taste what you're cooking but I consider now just it a test of my culinary skills. They say never trust a skinny chef but pretty soon they're gonna have to with me! :goofy:

The loss is the greatest motivation for staying on the plan. Just remember your name and what it means when you think you're about to cheat off plan. You can do it if I can! I don't weigh but once a month and it keeps me from fretting about those periods when you're body is stalling, and really makes me focus on the changes in the curves! :yippee:

Congratulations and keep up the good work! :thumbup:

Camille,

That is so funny! I have that same kind of "eatmares" in which I accidentally eat something forbidden and have a moment of complete panic before waking up. Glad to know I'm not crazy (or that we both are!)

<SIGH>

And I thought it was ME! LOL Actually, I've had an eatmare only once...my problem is that while I'm cooking for the kids and serving their plates, I have such a bad habit of snitching a taste of this and a bite of that--sometimes I stand stock-still in the center of the kitchen, clutching a Blues Clues plateful of macaroni and cheese, furiously questioning myself:
"Did I just taste that? Did I just wipe that off the edge of the plate and EAT it? Did I throw it in the trash? ARGH my beloved KETOSIS!"
Sometimes I am so scatterbrained that I have to go and LOOK in the trash to relieve my anxiety. I've never been so glad t see a noodle smeared on a plastic trash bag. Whew! It is so strange to not be in control of your brain. LOL :scratch:
