Walden Farms in packets!

Postby DogMa » February 7th, 2006, 3:25 pm

Has anyone else found these in the store? I've been waiting for the new Medifast dressings that are coming already prepared in little packets, but now I found these. Perfect for taking along to restaurants.

And great timing, since I'm going to lunch tomorrow with a friend and the one thing the restaurant has that I can eat safely is a good salad bar; I was wondering what sort of acceptable dressings they'd have, if any, and now I don't have to worry anymore.

They were at Albertsons. With the regular dressings, but way up on the top shelf. I think there are either four or eight packets per box. I was so excited I got four different kinds!!

No way!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I used to smuggle little plastic containers into Outback all the time- even pre-MF.

I am like 3 minutes from Albertsons, so I will check it out on my next trip.
:drive:

Thanks for the news

Thanks for the tip on Albertson's. I've been trying to find Walden Farms in my local stores to no avail. I didn't want to for pay shipping if I could find them locally. I'll drive a little further to the Albertson's and try there.

In what other stores have you guys been able to purchase Walden Farms products? (In case my Albertson's here in Utah doesn't carry them)

Thanks!!

My Kroger's carries 'em, too, although not in the little packets (at least not as of a week or so ago).

As for ketchup, my favorite is the Heinz 1-carb. Tastes just like the real thing to me. I'm not much of a ketchup eater, though.

Thanks for the tip on Kroger's. We don't have Kroger's here in Utah but we do have Smith's Marketplace which is owned and operated by Kroger's. I'll be checking them out!

Yeah, when I was in California it was Ralphs, and in Colorado it was King Soopers. They all seem to carry pretty much the same stuff, though.

Does anyone know what the Medi-dressings taste like, though? I got the Walden Farms for convenience, but I really don't care for them. They all taste like paste to me.

Have you tried the Walden Farms thousand island? I had it for the first time tonight and it tastes just like the original. I love it.

I have never seen WF in Albertsons, but in truth, I never looked. I buy the products in Sprouts, which is like a nut and grain whole foods, hippie kinda place. It is cheaper there than what the on-line search through Albertson's showed. I think I pay 2.99 a bottle. I am going to go look now for the packets at Sprouts since it is good to stock up.

That's one I haven't tried, Lisa, but I'm not much of a 1000 island fan to start with. Today I had some sort of creamy bacon dressing. Blah. I've also had the ranch and Italian, and maybe a blue cheese once? All kind of gummy and pasty to me.

I'm going to try the Medifast dressings and see, and use these in a pinch. But I think if I go with salad (I don't usually, because of this), I may go with regular dressing on the side, and just dip my fork in it. That method uses so little dressing that I should be OK.

Robin

I believe you posted somewhere before that you dip your fork in the dressing when eating out and having to use regular dressing and I meant to thank you for the idea I used it last weekend when I went out for the first time since starting the program and it worked great I hardly used any dressing at all and yet had a little on every bite. Thanks, you always have the most wonderful ideas

I'd love to take credit, but I think that was an old Weight Watchers tip. It's amazing how little dressing you need if you do it, though, isn't it? And you still get dressing in every bite.
