Vitamins - Exercise - Eggs

Post your weight loss successes or failures here...:)

Hey Nancy,

Thanks for the info.

Got some more questions

1) Are vitamins taboo? I take a Multivitamin each day. It gets me through the 3-4pm workday drag. Should I stop taking them?

2) Exercising is important to me. I've been involved with athletics for a long time so I am no stranger to the gym...okay, maybe the treadmill :) Even though I don't do much cardio, I lift weights frequently. As with any weight loss, some muscle mass is loss as well. I am concerned with preserving as much muscle mass as possible. Should I cease all exercise until week 3/4? My best wrokouts are when I can get a good lifting session paired with 30-45 minutes of cardio. Will I ever be able to go full blast in the gym again while I am on Medifast?

3) Eggs are my favorite!!! Please tell me I can have my incredible, edible, eggs, or at least some egg beaters :bib:
Git `er done!!!
375/325/275..and eventually 250 ;)

As I understand it, you may have 2 eggs 2-3 times per week as your L & G protien.

Exercise

Postby Jan » January 23rd, 2006, 3:20 pm

Hmmmm,
Yes, look in your Quick Start Book. It will tell you about substituting eggs for your Lean in the lean and green. I make myself a veggie omlet.
If you follow our program exactly you won't have to worry toooo much about parting with the muscle tissue. Our program has been medically developed to be a "muscle sparing" program. We want you to burn fat not muscle. Be very compliant and you won't have a problem.
If you work out routinely cut it back about by 1/2 the first three weeks after than 45 min or so is enough. There are lots of posts about the risk of putting your body in a "self preservation" mode and not parting with the extra fat.

Vitamins

Postby karmagirl » January 23rd, 2006, 10:09 pm

I am also wondering about taking multi-vitamins. I feel a huge difference since I don't take my Omega and other vitamins. Can we take them even though Medifast offers the vitamins and nutrients necessary?

I'd be lost without my Omega-3 capsules every day. They're wonderful for depression and a million other problems. As long as you're not getting an excess of the vitamins that can be dangerous in excess, I think you're fine.
