Da Vinci Sugar Free Syrups

Postby Maisie » February 17th, 2004, 11:55 am

TamiL:

I just got my syrups. You weren't kidding about the price being good. These are 3/4 liter bottles, not the little bottles of vanilla they sell at the grocery store. I'm bad about water, always have been. Everyone in my family is like that. So I am adding a tablespoon of the syrup to soda water. Watermelon in Diet Sprite is also awesome. Peach in the soda water is the best so far. I do remember that on Atkins after you have two tablespoons in a day of SF Syrup you have to count a carb for it. This stuff probably has four calories per tablespoon which allows them to say calorie free and carb free. We are so lucky they invented Splenda. Got the Kahlua and the Irish Creme for coffee.

Yeah to TamiL for the great tip. Website on TamiL's post in Lean Cuisine section.

Don't forget, there is always Walmart... (Can I say Walmart, or will it get <snipped>)? They have those (58 cents each in So. Calif.) huge 32oz bottles, of that flavored water. All different varities. I learned to love these, and for 58 cents its not a bad price.

Additionally my 2-1/2 year old discovered them calls them "Dada's juice" She can drink these all day if she wants...

I drank and still drink these by the ton!!

Syrups

Postby Maisie » February 17th, 2004, 1:05 pm

I changed my mind. The banana is the best. Then the peach and watermelon. These flavors take me back to childhood. There was a brand of soda called Nehi and you could mix and match the bottles in a six pack. My brother and I thought that was the greatest thing in the world when we went to the store with our parents. I always picked banana, he always wanted grape. Dad would have strawberry. My mother, well she came from a long line of bourbon and coke drinkers. What a great treat for only a few calories vs. heaven only knows how many were in a bottle of that soda back then.

Personally, I have not tired them. However, my inlaws used to use them in their coffee and LOVE the Hazelnut Flavor as well as several others. Hazelnut does not sound appealing to me (just personal choice)

Below is a list of the flavors for the Davinci Sugar Free Syrup (NO clue what B-52 is )

Sugar Free Almond
Sugar Free French Vanilla
Sugar Free Amaretto
Sugar Free Gingerbread
Sugar Free B-52
Sugar Free Hazelnut
Sugar Free Banana
Sugar Free Irish Cream
Sugar Free Blueberry
Sugar Free Kahlua-NEW!
Sugar Free Butter Rum
Sugar Free Macadamia Nut
Sugar Free Caramel
Sugar Free Pancake Syrup
Sugar Free Cherry
Sugar Free Peach
Sugar Free Chocolate
Sugar Free Peanut Butter
Sugar Free Cinnamon
Sugar Free Peppermint Paddy
Sugar Free Coconut
Sugar Free Pineapple
Sugar Free Cola
Sugar Free Raspberry
Sugar Free Cookie Dough
Sugar Free Root Beer
Sugar Free Creme de Menthe
Sugar Free Strawberry
Sugar Free Dulce de Leche
Sugar Free Toasted Marshmallow
Sugar Free Egg Nog
Sugar Free Vanilla
Sugar Free English Toffee
Sugar Free White Chocolate

As you can see, there are tons of them, and it is based on your own personal taste. Go for it! :toast:
YUMMY

As far as I am concerned water is for taking a BATH! I have recently been drinking flavored water by Clear Splash and I just LOVE it! No sugar, no sodium, no calories, no caffeine, and it is not water hehehe.
Lime is my fav!

Well I was all excited about these syrups, then I read the word "Splenda"
:(

What do people do when they have gastrointestional distress from Splenda??? Are there any other syrups out there without the artificial sweetners? Am I doomed to a life without flavor!!!??? Ok, a little dramatic...But it makes me mad! :x I want to try the pretty syrup too!

I've never had any problems with Splenda. It's not like the sugar alcohols, like maltitol, which cause major problems and make me unfit for human companionship (and even my dogs sometimes look at me funny).

You're also usually consuming pretty small quantities if you're using the syrups, just a spoonful or squirt here and there.

BTW, Ladychamp, B52 is a drink made with kahlua. From what I've seen, the flavor is supposed to be a combo of kahlua, amaretto and irish cream.

Splenda-Free sugar free syrups

Postby Seaside » July 17th, 2005, 10:39 am

To the person who asked about sugar-free syrups not made with Splenda. There is a company in Myrtle Beach, SC that makes sugar free syrups called Southern Secret, using another kind of sweetener that may be easier on you, may not be. Mr. Snippy will snip me if I give you the URL but google Popnstuff and you'll get them.
