Vegetable question

Postby cowabunga » October 16th, 2006, 7:09 pm

So tonight I pureed 1 cup of cauliflower to get my "mashed potatoe" fix. I yielded 1/2 cup of puree. So my question is....could I have had 2 cups to come up with 1 cup? Or am I only supposed to have cup whole?

I used my other 1/2 cup to eat another vegetable.

Thoughts?

I'd go with the measurement when it's whole or cut up, not pureed.

Hi there,
You need to messure the vegetable after it is cooked but BEFORE it is pureed. Then take one and half cups and puree it. You're not the only one who has thought about measuring it after it is pureed. But that way you get waaay toooo much. Especially if you're like me and try to "smash" every little bit in a measuring cup.
