Using SF FF Pudding

Postby alleycat » March 14th, 2006, 11:31 am

I noticed in the recipe section people were adding sugar free fat free pudding to the shakes - while this sounds very good cause I can't stand the shakes, I am afraid to do this because I looked on Jello's website and 1 serving of the SF FF pudding (8g) has between 6 and 8 grams of carbs (not prepared), depending on the flavor.
Will this affect ketosis - has anyone done this and it has not had an impact on their weight loss?
Thanks

The pistachio has 6 grams for a quarter of a box. If I add it to vanilla shake mix, the total is 19 grams. Which is 3 more than in the maple oatmeal but fewer than a bar (22 grams in the oatmeal raisin, 24 in the fruit and nut) and the same as the minestrone soup. I just started adding the pudding yesterday, and I figure I'll pretty much just have it on days when I don't have a bar (which is most days, lately).

An extra 3 grams of carb (figuring if I have pudding instead of oatmeal) shouldn't knock you out of ketosis. I wouldn't eat it for every meal, though.

I honestly am so paranoid about adding additional calories that I won't evenuse the SF pudding but it does sound delicious. Maybe I might try it one day. How much of the mix do you use??

I used a tablespoon, but I think next time I'm going to cut back a little. There was pistachio flavor to spare.

And I was more like that in the beginning. But I've been on this thing for nine months!!!! And I lose slowly no matter WHAT I do, so I figure it won't hurt.

I only use not probably a small spoon full, so not even a TBSP.

It just helps firm it up a little, but I add in lots of ice to do the same

I divided up the package to see just how much I use. I got at least six servings out of one box. So we're talking 2 grams of carb or so extra. Which puts it at less than many of the other Medifast products. So I think it's pretty safe to do, if you're not adding other extras.

And so worth it for pistachio pudding. Or butterscotch or cheesecake or the other flavors out there.
