As those of you who read my journal know, my mom had some heart problems this week. Here is the update.
After doing the angiogram this morning, they found that her coronary artery where it branches out was 99% blocked. They scheduled her for a bypass after the blood thinners wore off (3 hours). They took her in at 12 PM, and I checked at 3, they had just started. At about 630 PM they told us she was doing well, and came through just fine. The Dr. came and told us at about 715 PM that they did a quituple bypass of the coronary artery as well as attempted to fix her atrial fibrillation problem. She is doing well and will sleep overnight (with sedatives).
I'll be there early in the morning to be there when she wakes up. Di is going in to work and will join me later.

Oh gosh Mike! I'm so sorry. I had no idea. I'm terrible about keeping up with the journals...I can't even keep up with my own. :oops:

Mike, I took my mother to ER with very bad chest pains on Saturday. She is still in. So far all of the test are coming out ok. I sure understand how scary this has been for you and your family. All the best to you and your dear Mother that she recovers fully.

Mike--I have been gone for a few days. I am sorry you are having a crisis with your mom. Please stay strong and keep a positive attitude when you are with her. I truly believe that attitude plays a HUGE role in the healing process. Your family is in my prayers.

She is out of ICu and in a really nice private room now. Doing WAY better. Probably there for another week, then home, so thanks for the prayers and keep em coming. :mrgreen:
