Unexpected Side Effects

Postby auntielingo » August 9th, 2005, 3:04 pm

Medifast isn't just helping me fit into my pants better, it stopped my sweating problem! :D Before MF, just walking from my car to inside any building would make me start sweating profusely. I made it a habit of heading straight to a bathroom so I could cool off before anyone saw me. I would get so embarrassed  if I had to meet a friend somewhere and she would see me just dripping. I'm sure it has something to do with what I'm eating (or the bad stuff I'm not eating) since I noticed this change right away, before I lost any significant weight. Anway, it sure is a great, though unexpected effect.

What kind of unexpected side effects (good or bad) is everyone else experiencing?

Hi Auntie,
Great side effect. I'm guessing now that you're drinking more water, your excess fluids may be going out somewhere else....:)

For me it was burning up at night. I would turn my AC down to 70 every night and still wake up sweating. I keep it on 80 at all times now and am perfectly comfortable. :D

Today begins week 3 and I have lost 12#; I don't know why I waited so long to MF :dohdoh:

Hey Angie,
I understand what your saying. I don't have a sweating thing, but I have an ankles-swelling thing (I blame on Heart meds) however it has
subsided significantly since on MF (just over a wk). The high potassium
content helps, as the 10 pds lost. Just think how we will feel as we progress :D . Best Wishes.

I think for me it was swollen ankles. I had these high heeled pumps that are supposed to zip up the ankle. After a while they no longer zipped and I had to leave them unzipped because my ankles (which never used to swell) were always swollen. After awhile on MF, I put those same shoes on and attempted to zip, they zipped so fast it shocked me. I hadn't even paid any attention to the fact that my ankles were no longer swollen. Needless to say, I think I'm a little cuter in my pumps now, so now my walk has changed a bit too :D . I tend to add a little more umph when I :walk: :walk: walk :D . It feels so good. I'm starting to feel like my old, old self (pre-fat) again. Thanks to MF.

Unexpected side effects

Postby Jan » August 10th, 2005, 9:11 pm

Wow,
I am really glad to hear about all the great things the program is doing for everyone besides parting with the pounds. I was reading somewhere -- you all know I am quite the reader -- and the article was extolling the virtues of soy for the skin. I think if I remember correctly there is even a new lotion/potion that advertises how great it is because of the soy. Just think we are not only going to look great -- the flab is gone, our skin will just glow with health and Kim and the others (I'd be sure and break my leg) will be able to struct their stuff in stylish high heeled boots.

Kim, I understand what you say about the extra umph in your walk. I've got my umph back too! I guess MF has given me back my confidence.
