Unexpected NSV

Postby Lenainie » January 17th, 2007, 7:34 pm

I went shopping today to pick up a sweater that I saw around the holidays, but wanted to wait for it to go on sale. I wasn't able to get the color I want because for the first time they didn't have a small enough size :) What a total change from previous shopping experiences! So, I bought two in different colors and basically went skipping out of the store. As an added bonus I also took my shopping euphoria to the Levi section and bought a pair of pants, in size 10. TEN! I haven't worn a 10 since junior high.

I hope everyone will pardon my ignorance - but what is a NSV?

Kind regards

Gavin

Gavin, it stands for "Non-Scale Victory." We use it to denote something (other than the scale) that reflects our weight loss progress--such as a compliment we've received, the emergence of long-hidden clavicles or knee bones, or, in Lenainie's case, the store not having the small-sized sweater she now fits into.

Congratulations Lenainie! I am hoping you have a journal because I'm headed there now to try to find it. I saw your pictures today in the studio and your weight loss graph, and I am dying to hear about your journey. Off I go!
