So, they call it DID? I can just see it now, writings in journals using the term DID. The patient has DID. Now that sounds grammatically correct.

Now who's being the smartass??
It is called DID, but not as an acronym, each letter is pronounced instead: dee-eye-dee.

LOL about what you said though ~ the patient has DID. No offense, Silver Fox, but this reminds me of when I used to live in Arkansas! The patient has DID what?? Could be a new "Who's on First?" routine!

I was in the hospital on a unit with several DID patients. Most of them were pretty reasonable but one insisted that some of her "kids" as she called them were vegetarian and she never knew until the dinner trays arrived. Often they had to send down for a special tray. I would have just made her eat vegan everyday to avoid the trouble but this was a nice unit that encouraged people to explore their alters rather than integrate. Very annoying.

Hey, Biki ~ I just read this great book called First Person Plural: My Life as a Multiple. The author experiences a couple of hospitalizations where he meets several other multiples, all of whom have very interesting stories. This was at the Ross Institute for Psychological Trauma at Charter Hospital in Dallas (I think it might technically be in Plano though). Anyway, the book's a great read and not at all sensationalized - it's even humorous! Nothing about vegans that I recall, though he does call his alters his "guys."
