trunk lift

Postby joylk » January 9th, 2006, 9:20 am

Hi I have a question for anyone...I am starting today Jan 9th and I have scheduled an appointment on the 27th of Feb to go and see a plastic surgeon for a trunk lift. I need/will try to drop 40 lbs by the time I go and see him, and I am going to find out from him how close I have to be to my ideal weight to qualify for this proceedure. I am 5'11 and am in a size 18...I don't want to be a size 8 or 10....12 or 14 is good for me. I like to have a shape, but I need the extra skin flab in my belly area removed. I really want to weigh around 185lbs when I am done...that I think is light considering at one time I weighed over 325....i have lost all up to this point by making choices, now I am looking for medifast to help me in the end. Any insight? Help my trunk lift anxiety! If you have had this proceedure done, Please Help!!

From what I understand most good surgeons want you to have at least a year of stable weight before they will operate. If you still have 40 lbs to get off you would want to get it off and give your body a chance to level out. You need to be cautious about having surgery while you are on the program. I am sure Nancy will give you expert advice that you should consider. If you lose all the weight you need your body skin may shrink in time. I wish you luck in your decision Ron
