Too Good to be True - Lobster Chops!!

Postby mellowmom » May 23rd, 2006, 12:24 am

OMG, I ordered them at Red Lobster the other day and thought I died and went to heaven...

Anyone else try them? They're pretty pricey, but worth it for a "special occasion". Please, no one tell me they're not okay for a L&G. The meal consists of 6 "baby" lobsters wrapped around large sea scallops. Put on skewers and grilled. Served with mixed veggies consisting mostly of squash and rice pilaf. I asked them to hold the pilaf and replace it with more veggies. Totally filling and delicious and hopefully legal??

Here's all the nutritional data I could find on it:

Calories: 321
Fat 8.5b
Protein: 61g
Carbs: 0 < can this be?
Sugar: 0

Only info I couldn't find was Cholesterol, Saturated Fat and Sodium. (I think it may be high in these nutrients...but I couldn't find the amounts anywhere.) They are on the Lighthouse Menu at Red Lobster.

Anyone know for sure if this is okay?

Thanks,
Carmel

Holy cow that sounds delicious. I don't eat at Red Lobster very often...once every 4 or 5 years it seems. But those would be something that would make me visit for if they truly fit into the lean and green schedule.

That sounds perfectly fine to me. We want to eat low fat stuff most of the time, but once in a while a little extra won't kill ya. It's the carbs that throw you out of ketosis, not fat. :)

Lobster I know has very low fat, scallops not sure.. The thing is if they basted it with butter then it does have fat added but no carbs so you will be fine.

I hope this is ok.........I eat at Red Lobster faithfully once a week. I have this about every other week or so. Sometimes I opt for grilled fish. I would love to know so I would have more choices.

I'm sure those are legal if they aren't slathered with butter/oil. I always request that my fish and veggies be cooked without the use of butter or oil.

Red Lobster has a "smart" menu on the back that lists info on some of their dishes. I've ordered from that menu a few times.

PS: Stay away from the cheese biscuits.....whoa!

The Light House Smart Menu is where I got the nutriontal info on Lobster Chops. It's listed on the back of the menu.

And the first thing I do when I talk to the waiter/waitress is request that they DON'T bring the cheddar biscuits to the table.... (I can only exercise so much self-control...)

But it sounds so far that the chops are legal...so guess where I'm having my L&G today?

Gonna have some legal in my tummy.
