Is this weird or is it me.

Postby katieb920 » March 5th, 2007, 3:16 pm

I have been doing great on this diet. The one thing is I crave is my Dill pickles. Like it is the best food ever. Does anyone else have those types of cravings. And the weird thing is it only happens around 4 pm.

At least you're obsessing about legal foods and not something way off track like pancakes or fried rice.

I'm just the opposite with the dill pickles. I bought some because I knew I could have them as a snack, but can't stand the thought of actually eating them. For me, that's weird because I love dill pickles, but suddenly I don't want them at all??????????? :dunno:

Have you tried the Bread and Butter ones with splenda. They are yummy. But I try not to eat that many.

I find that my taste buds have done a total turn-around. Instead of sweets, I now love sour and bold tasting things....like pickles, olives, brussel sprouts, etc. I don't even think about sweet stuff anymore, but I look forward to an olive or two each day when I get home from work. Crazy, isn't it?

Yup,
We are expanding our tastes. Americans in general love sugar, fat and salt. We certainly aren't eating the sugar and fat .. but dill pickles .. hmmm salt!! and crunchy. For some reason some of us miss the "crunch". Don't worry your tastes change as you progress on program. Olives sound wonderful to me too!!

Is this weird or is it me...... apparently it wasn't just you, so it must not be weird :roflmao:
I go through phases, and I always have I think.
There will be days when no jar of dill pickles is safe.
Then there are days when I hear the celery shrieking in terror as I approach.
Other days I think I can actually see the little silver bags of soy crisps trying to maneuver themselves into the back of the pantry, behind the salsa.
The SF popscicles just have nowhere to go when I get onto that phase (the box is kind of a difficult thing to hide).

I think we all have the things that we focus on during different times. For me, its almost like I have to get tired of something before I want something different.

It is not weird at all. Last year when I did Medifast my tastebuds and cravings totally changed. Now that I am on my restart I have to threaten my childrens lives if they go near my pickles! :x

I totally agree with you. BUt I would rather my son eat a pickle then a cupcake. SO now I buy like 6 jars at at time.

Mike has solved the pancake thing!

Make the oatmeal cookies, but add a little extra water. Let the batter sit a little to thicken a bit, then bake them like it says on the Apple Cinnamon box. (Make SURE you spray the cookie sheet with Pam or something.)

Then, spray the little puppies with I Can't Believe It's Not Butter (ICBINB) and drizzle with sugar free suryp (check the calorie count, measure drizzle so that it's fewer than 10 cal -- count as a snack.)

Viola! Shortstack!!
Here's to our mutual success! :buddies: --Diana

My sister and I are about 4 weeks into the plan and have noticed that we both crave balsamic vinegar and prepared yellow mustard. We've been adding a little BV to our green beans along with a some minced garlic. It's delish !
