I think I messed up

Postby lise » March 16th, 2006, 5:40 pm

I started the plan yesterday and I thought I did well. I had a shake in the morning, the cappacino 2 hours later, lunch was soup, a bar at 2pm , a pudding at 5pm and then the lean and green.

Am I doing this wrong?

I have about 100 pounds to lose and want it off now.

Please help!

Looks good to me! You're getting all five supplements plus the l & G, you're doing great! I eat my L & G a little earlier because I'd like to get some of those calories burned before I slow down for bed at night, but that's me. Make sure you drink all your water!

I'm sure one of the advanced people will be along later.

Glad you're starting the program, I wish you THE BEST!

Thanks!

I was going into panic mood!

I love this so far, all the food is great! I found the oatmeal a little bland, but I can live with it. I'm in love with all the chocolate products. I'm severely allergic to peanuts so, no peanut butter or peanut products for me!

The water is really easy for me to drink since I usually drink 1 litre in the morning, the other in the afternoon and I drink water at night at home since I have nothing else! lol. Work is very supportive nad allowing me to have food at my desk so I can stay on track. Tommorow, I am buying a scale for my washroom and a food scale.

I want to look great by the summer!

I've been reading so many posts in these forums, I've learned a lot so far. I read one that said to not eat the L&G as the last meal of the day, no bars for last or first meal either. It's too many calories right before bed. I think that's the only thing, you should switch the pudding and L&G times. :)

lean and green

Postby Jan » March 16th, 2006, 8:03 pm

Hi There,
I think you did fine too. The only real rule is "only one bar each day" The reason we say don't have a bar first thing in the morning or last thing at night is due to the carb push it can cause. First thing in the morning it can cause you to feel a little hungry (but I know people who have it in the morning without a problem) and at night it can keep you awake. Again some diabetics have their bar at night to keep their blood sugars level at night. It's an individual thing. As for the lean and green -- I've been digging around and couldn't find anything that stated not to have it last thing in the evening. I think that was conventional "diet wisdom". You know don't eat toooo late at night -- it will all go to fat. That doesn't hold true on our program. It's simply calories in and calories expended.

As for the oatmeal, add some extra cinnamon (or apple pie spice to the apple flavor) for more oomph. Ooh, or my favorite lately is the apple-cinnamon with extra cinnamon and a splash of sugar-free caramel syrup. Delicious!!

Lise,

I have a bar two hours after my lean & green every night. I have tried having the bar both ways, during the day or at night or not even having one at all, and it hasn't seemed to make any difference as far as my weight loss goes. Everyone's body is different, this works for me.

Hi Lise!

Glad you're here with us! I'm a newbie too, bit I LOVE this program! I have already seen/ felt results, and this forum is great!

One thing I want to mention. I read in your post that you are "severely allergic to peanuts"...

I just want to draw your attention to the fact that ALL the bars (that I have seen anyway) say that they are "manufactured in a facility that uses wheat, peanuts, and/ or nuts".

I know that anaphylactic (sp?) shock is NO joke, so I just want to make sure that you are informed!

Again, welcome!

Thanks for all the responses!

Where I get my products, they are very careful. I took the 4 week starter pack and substituted all the peanut and nut related things. My doctor just gave me an epi-in case I go into shock.

So far, day 3 is great! I had a shake in the morning, a cappacino at break, chili at lunch, now having a nice lean and green meal of chicken, broccoli (cooked) and raw mushrooms. I drank 3 litres of water at work.

Tonight I will have the pudding when I return from shopping.

I can't beleive how easy this plan is. I hope I see results soon. I'm buying a few scales tonight (food and regular) and I think I will see a weight loss sometime next week. I know it takes 3 days to go into ketosis.

How do you know if you are in ketosis?

Have a great day!

Hi, Lise ~

Be sure to have 5 Medifast meals per day plus the Lean and Green Meal. I count only 4 Medifast meals here:
Shake
Cappuccino
Chili
Pudding

There is no need to use keto sticks to determine whether or not you are in ketosis - this is a very mild state of ketosis and we prefer to use the term "fat burning state" as many people get hung up on the term and can form negative thoughts about it.

The third day on the program is when most people experience the Fat Burning state, energy level is strong, and hunger seems to disappear for the most part. The desire to eat may still be there for a while but true hunger diminishes and cravings will eventually disappear - very cool!

I'm pleased to know that you understand the value of drinking a lot of water. You are off to a great start. I am happy to hear that you have an epi-pen handy...

I forgot to mention the Oatmeal/Raisin bar I had at break today. That was awesome!

I hopefully will be one of those that loses quickly. I bought my scales today and have all the lean/green stuff for the week. I also have my crystal light handy in case I want a treat.

I have a feeling that by July, I will be unrecognizable but in a good way! :)

3 days down and I'm feeling great, food is fabulous, and I know that I can succeed on this plan. I'm ordering next months stuff in 2 weeks.

You've GOT to try the cookie recipe on the apple cinnamon oatmeal box!!! I used pumpkin pie spice instead of cinnamon. I was going to an inservice were breakfast and lunch were going to be catered, so I made the cookies the night before (turned out to be 6 of them). They were so good, I almost felt like sharing!! (And I took my LnG to have for lunch along with everyone else.)

I was perfect on plan and had just eaten my lean grean meal when 2 hours later, I was called for an impromptu family dinner at my broither's house. So instead of having a shake, I had salad, no dressing, pork tenderloin, no sauce and steamed broccoli. I resisted the temptation of great french bread and cake!

Tommorow is my dad's birthday so I am going to my parents place and I know that it will be super easy to say no to the cake and ice cream since I managed to say it tonight! :)

I hope tonight did not harm me too much; I really want to be right to the plan. I also drank 5 litres of water tonight and my sister in law and I will begin walking together once the snow melts here.

Hope everyone had a good day!

Great news!

The second lean and green had no effect on my weight loss! I lost 4 pounds in 4 days!! Another grea thing is that I had to make a call from the donult shop since my phone service was out for a bit and I did not get tempted at all to buy a donut at all or any pastries. It fact the smell was so unappetizing to me that I was dying to get out!

I love this!
