All bodies are different! Many factors to consider; metabolism, age, excersise,etc...
My 45+ took me about 5 months to shed.
Good luck!

As Amber said, all bodies are different. It took me 90 days to lose 45 pounds & it took 49 days to lose 30. Age, weight, lifestyle, activity level, hormones, stress level and many other factors can impact the rate of your weight loss. I must say that I have lost weight more quickly and consistantly with this program then any other program.

Good Luck!

I am also on three medications known to promote weight gain in some people so I know I have that to perhaps hold me back a little...I also have already lost almost 30 pounds since May before Medifast so I don't have a VIRGIN system in terms of dieting. So few of us do...

Hi Miracle23 and welcome to the forums!

I'm one of the faster losers on this forum...I was averaging 3.5-4lbs per week. I personally lost 26lbs my first month. But that's me.

One thing that helped me the most was to set mini-goals and reward myself. That way I never felt let down because I didn't make the "big goal" by a certain date...
I had a mini-goal at each 10lb increment
I had a mini-goal when I went from obese to overweight
I had a mini-goal when I got to Onederland
I have a mini-goal when I go from overweight to in the healthy range
I have a mini-goal when I weigh less than my driver's license says
I give myself presents (non-food) like pedicures, or a DVD or something. My 50lb mini goal present was a new Tivo. It breaks the weight loss up into manageable chunks and does wonders for motivation!

As I reached each mini-goal, my confidence, motivation and inspiration would continue. I know you want to get this weight off As soon as possible, but know that you're heading in the right direction and my whole outlook changed because of that.

You're gonna do great, I just don't want the calendar to get you down. We're here if you need us!

I neglected to say that, usually, the less you have to lose the longer it takes. As I understand it, those with more to lose usually lose more quickly than those with less to shed. Ain't fair...

What everyone else said. The average is supposed to be 2-5 pounds a week. Took me about four months to lose the first 30, but I'm slower than average. In so many ways.

Even so, I got far better results on Medifast than I did on anything else I tried the past few years.

Good luck!!

Hi

Postby dede4wd » December 3rd, 2006, 5:41 pm

Also,
My losses increased with water...DON'T FORGET THE WATER! When I upped my water intake to 100oz a day, my losses increased almost a pound a week (that was just me!)

Water is IMPERATIVE!

You're going to do great!

Thanks De De. Once again you always know the right things to say!
I hit a small plateau at the beginning of this week (week #2) but am back to losing again. I just drank more water, as you suggested.

I agree with all that has been said above. I'd like to add that for me, the pressure of being a certain weight by a certain date messed me up. If you don't lose 30 lbs in six weeks, but instead lose 20, have you failed? No WAY! But that is the way I felt when I missed my first self imposed mini-goal. This is a journey to health and whatever time it takes is what is meant to be. This really does work, as witnessed by so many successful winners on this site. Hang in and enjoy the proccess, the end will be here soon enough! Then comes maintenance.....and I am scared of that! :)

I agree with the above post 100%!

The last thing we need is the added stress of yet another "Deadline!"
