They changed the Quick Start Guide BIG TIME!

Postby Pashta » April 21st, 2007, 8:36 pm

:eyecrazy: OMG... They changed a bunch of stuff on the quickstart guide and didn't even tell anyone! WTH is with these people who make the decisions at this company?

Go look... *sigh*

Thanks for catching this Tonia ... I wonder if a new booklet will come with our next order :?: Just the same, I printed it out so I can compare with the old guide.

This is odd because I got a new quickstart guide in my last order - but it was the old version, not this new-fangled thing.

A question - should I bother with this new stuff? I read it all through online at the link Pashta gave, and it's somewhat the same, but meat portion sizes and vegetable suggestions stuck out the most to me - oh, and I'm using way too much condiment on my meals.

But - I've been seeing decent losses with the program as is. The portion sizes are easy to remember now. I don't measure my condiments at all because I only have them for my L&G 2-4 times a week, not every day.

So - should we ignore it? Or change our program?

I love the 14 egg whites suggestion. If my husband saw me wasting that many egg yolks he would divorce me. He is such a penny-pincher.

I just got an order last week. Did not even look at the guide that was in the box, just tossed it. I mean how many do I need?

I have been doing fine with the program the way it was. Should we all switch?

At first I groaned,, about learning new guidelines, but then I thought, maybe this new tweaking is going to take the pounds off without so many stalls-------so YES! I am switching over to the new guidelines (unless Nancy tells us otherwise). I'm printing them out right now (not the entire guide.....just those pages that have the new information).

Thank you Pashta for giving us a heads up on the new guide.

to be honest, the new quick start guide makes a lot more sense. it's closer to how i've actually been eating.

calories matter, and the new guide adjusts portions to take this into account. i particularly like the statement about adding fat-- it's a discussion we've had on this board several times. i stall like crazy when i don't get enough fat in my diet (of course, the resulting hairloss must have knocked a few fractions of an ounce off the scale). adding the fat keeps hair, nails and skin healthy, and it keeps your body working and willing to metabolize jiggly parts into fuel.

it's a great plan. i suggest people use it.

Oh I agree about the fat, I've been adding some since week 2 on my own. I do *not* agree with them on using margarine... even trans fat free, it's man-made and disgusting and unhealthy.

The portions are what I have been eating too already so I guess I'm lucky. :)

I just received my first order on Friday, and it still had the old quickstart.
Since I'm just starting today, I guess I'll use the new quick start.

Thank you for the link.

Isn't he the same man who took you to HK, bought you pearls and had a custom made dress for you while you were there? Hmmmm ... :?

He can afford to do things like that because he watches every cent! He monitors my use of coffee and toilet paper.

Looking at it, its not that different, other than making things a bit more outlined as to the "best" options and the lesser options (and of course onions being off the list now :( )
I would say, in a way, these things are kind of like college catalogs. You go by the one you got when you started. If it works for you then just follow the plan.
If you are new to the program, you don't know its a new guide, and if you aren't new, use the one you have before.

This is all my opinion of course.

Actually the last ones I bought were Fendi last week and he thought they were very nice because 1. He pretends he has no idea how much they cost and 2. I paid for them. My money is my money and his money is our money. Logic, innit?
