Wishing you all the best Jen! I have learned that losing weight rapidly can cause gall bladder problems. I have been keeping my fingers crossed that mine does not act up, cos I already have to get rid of an annoying organ on the 25th. (uterus) Here's to a speedy recovery for you!
Going to restart Jun 2009, been gone since after surgery Oct06. Can't wait !

I don't know about the back to work the next day comment .... When I had mine out, I was down for a few days with pretty intense post-op pain. It was a minor, outpatient procedure but you'll need time to recuperate.

Good Luck with your surgery - although I think you will need more
than one day to heal afterwards. I had mine out about a year ago and had about a week off from work.... your not in alot of pain, but you still need some time to heal on the inside!

Hey Jenn!

I had my GB out a MONTH after my second son was born. It's amazing but you'll feel better right away- those attacks are miserable!!!

I wish you all the very best during and after your surgery. Wish I could help you out more than a posting! :)

Yes Nancy I had it out a week ago today. It wasnt what I expected. I actually told your story to the surgeon as he was takin the drain out of me (a complication I didnt expect), telling him I would have rather had your experience.

I feel much better now then I did a week ago. My food still isnt staying down well but I assume that comes with time.

 What? a drain? :redhead:

Was yours an open procedure or a lap?

 Huh? Food NOT staying down? :puke:

Oh, no! :table:

:pet: I am so, so sorry, Jenn. I must have had it easy breezy then. My gall bladder was not infected or sick at the time I had mine ripped out so maybe that's why mine was easier.

As long as you are feeling better than last week, that's a good thing.

Keep on sipping that water, eating small meals fresquently and rest up, Girl! You must gettin' in a lot of :snooze: snoozin', readin' and TV watchin', eh?

What are you looking forward to doing when all is well?

I did have the lap but once they got in there they found that it was inflamed. I think that is one step before infection. They had to use a lot of fluid because of the inflamation so they put a drain in. It was so gross and hurt so much. The surgery was Thurs at 10am and I went home Friday at 5pm.

I am getting bored of the relaxing part of things but every time I try to do something (I just vacumed the family room) It starts to hurt so I sit again.

I think I'm most looking forward to just getting back on program and walking. I miss my morning walks.
