The 10 # Club for me too please

Postby Marcelle » August 18th, 2005, 8:21 am

unca Tim - please add me to the 10# club also. I lost 10.5 last week and I didn't realize that I needed to ask you to add me.

I thought it was automatic with the forum.

Thanks!

Hi Marcelle,
Got ya.
I watch the forum pretty close, so usually if you just update your stats or ticker I'll notice it. You can also post it in the "Weight Room" or on the current week's roll call and I'll see it too.

Congrats girl!!
You're off to a great start...:)

Thanks Nancy! I have a questions and comments.

The syrups came yesterday and I have mixed 2 vanilla shakes with a couple of the syrups (Kaluha and the Praline) and they were actually really good! YEAH! I'll try more when I get home today.

I also had ordered some other things just in case the vanilla didn't work out, but now they can stay in my cabinet for next month. They also arrived yesterday.

Now to my problem.

On Sunday I weighed 176.5. Yesterday, I weighed in and was 178.5 and I thought that might be the salt on my meal from the evening before, so I didn't panic and waited until today and I drank a lot of water again yesterday. Well, when I weighed in this morning, I was 179.5.

I have not been going over my on my meal. I have been drinking my water and having the meal replacements as directed. The only thing that I have been doing, is I've been chewing sugar free gum and have been having the Crystal Lite.

I have been using these freebies, (a lot), BUT not the several thousand calories that would be needed to gain this weight. So now what?

This is the plateau that I was talking about. I've been "stuck" between 176 and 181 for a long time and my body doesn't seem to want to break through.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I'm not giving up so quickly, but how do I get my body to go along with the program?

When I emailed Sherri this am, she said to drop the gum and the Crystal Lite, which I've done.

She's going to look at my eating plan, but any input here would be greatly appreciated.

Consider the gum and the Crystal Lite gone!

My schedule for eating was:

7:00 AM Oatmeal (vitamins with this meal)

10:00 Shake

1:00 Shake or Soup

4:00 Bar (in the car on the way home)

5:00 - 5:30 PM Lean & Green - 6 oz of Chx or Turkey only had beef twice in the last 2 weeks. Salad has 2 cups of salad greens (different lettuce types only) no, carrots or anything starchy. No other veggies. The first week, I was using the bread crumbs, but I'm out of those, so I'm not adding them this week. My dressing on the salad is a LF Balsamic Vinagrette Dressing by Paul Newman. It's about 45 cals for 2 Tbsp.

7:00 PM Pudding/Shake

When I was on my trip to Fresno the other day I couldn't get a salad in because of my driving, but I did go through El Pollo Loco and had chicken and salsa, but maybe less than the 6oz. When I ordered there salad, it had beans and rice not greens. So I ate the chicken and salsa, I may have had a bite or two of rice total, but I tried really hard to pick the chicken out of it. That was why I thought that my weight the next morning was water retention from the salt and salsa on the chx.

When I did get home, I had oatmeal for my last supplement.

Yesterday I decided that I'm going to try and have them every 2 to 2 1/2 hours to get them in during the day. It's hard to get them in after my meal when I not hungry.

Today I started with:

7:00 AM Shake

9:00 AM Oatmeal (Vitamins)

11:30 AM Shake

1:30 PM Soup

3:30 Bar

5:30 Lean & Green

Thanks for the quick response. I'm looking forward to hearing from you!

Your schedule and the meals look fine to me.

I was using the bread crumbs, but I'm out of those

Huh? bread crumbs? NO bread crumbs - what's with that? Glad you got them outta there. Did they come in a Medifast packet?

I would choose a salad dressing with a lot less calories & carbs. Like with 15 calories or less. The total calories for the salad/vegetable portion should be no more than 80.

If you can't find a lean and green on the run, have a packet of Medifast. Avoid rice, beans, tortilla wraps/chips like the plague...

Your weight can fluctuate due to hormonal imbalances, fluid fluctuations and stress, lack of sleep, etc.

I'm not giving up so quickly

Why would you even entertain the idea of quitting or bailing out? You've lost 10 pounds. No way no where else could you lose that much weight this fast?

The third week can be a slow-down for some. It will pick up again. Give it time.

People, I KNOW how this is.

I have lived it, I AM living it, it takes time.

I hate it, but it does take time.

I am on the program this week myself.

I broke my own maintenance rules.

I :x hate it.

It takes so dang long to get the lard out but no time at all for it to leap on- it's like velcro. It stick fast but peels off ever so slowly.

Wait it out, Hunny. It's all we can do.

The alternatives will get us no where but UP...

Yes, they were only the MF crackers. Not bread crumbs, sorry!

Okay I'll change that tonight.

Heck no! I'm not going anywhere. I just want to make sure I'm not missing anything. The gain back was more of a flag that I might be missing something somewhere.

It's only my second week. :( I was hoping to break my first goal and go down 1 or 2 lbs ...oh well! I'll ride it out and go from here.

Should I only weigh once a month, or should I leave in the garage for the week and post on Sundays for Roll Call?

ouch!

Well, Sunday morning scale leapage is allowed for you, Little Darlin'!

We just don't want you to get too worried about those multiple scale mounts during the course of a day.

We cannot allow a number to determine our attitude or set the tone for our day. And it will.

How do I know about those multiple scale mounts, you ask?

Because our scale lives right next to the toidy in the gas chamber here.

When I was on the weight loss program, I weighed every single time I went wee wee.

 Yup.

Every single time.

Talk about obsessive...it’s what some of us do, Peeps…

In the beginning when you are still puny in your faith in the program and unsure it will work for you (even though we see how it works for others, there is a whole other mind thing going on about it working for us, right?)

Just weigh in on Sundays, jump around and do the :yay: happy dance because it will show a loss and then tuck that scale away until the next Sunday and you won’t be goin’ :nana: cwazy in the mean time. Use your former ‘scale time’ for looking in magazines for ideas about what to wear when you’re thinner and read books like Food is Easy, Life is Hard. Learn how to paint, or embroider or clean out the cupboards and drawers! You’ll think of some juicy things to do!
