Good morning, folks!
I just wanted to thank you all so much for all your wonderfully kind and enthusiastic replies! It's like we all get our own personal cheerleading section here, to lift us up, and keep us on track. I am and always have been a very independent chick, take great pride in achieving success in life (in all facets) on my own. But I really have gotten a great deal of momentum and energy from the folks on this forum, and for that, I thank you all.
The beach was a great long weekend away with family and friends. It certainly is tougher there, as everyone just grazes the food all day - at the house, at the beach, on the road. Lots of wonderful fresh fruit (I am a huge fruit fan), water ice, yummy sandwhiches, etc. And yes, to join the others in some other forums, my family whips out the bagels, lox, and whitefish too! I found myself almost grabbing a piece of watermelon or honeydew - just out of habit from being at the beach - and actually had to tell myself "no." It was an interesting test, and one that I hadn't confronted in some time. But I made it and feel more confident heading into the summer at the beach house on many weekends - getting over hurdles is all part of the game, huh?
Supermom, I LOVED your butt joke! That's too funny! Get back on the horse, drink TONS of water (you need it now more than ever, it's summer!), and re-focus your energies to this diet. Have it be a priority - not an accident. It's worth it, I swear!
Jo, I can't wait to finally meet you this fall, I'll look forward to taking some pictures and sharing stories! You'll be at 100 very soon I see! I love that we're neck and neck, it's motivating!
And thanks to the rest of you for all your kindness.
Cheers!
Lauren
