The benefits of bad teeth

Postby Lauraly » May 11th, 2006, 4:36 pm

My company is pretty cool. Today it hit 100 degrees here in Phoenix for the first time this year. It is a tradition that the VPs of each department distribute Dilly Bars (ice cream) to their staff to celebrate the occasion. They go around ringing little Good Humor bells and everything.

I got my chocolate Dilly Bar and flipped it over to read the nutritional info. There's a lotta carbs in those things! But still I might have crumbled if not for the fact that recent dental work has left my teeth very sensitive to hot and cold. I pictured the uncomfortable sensation of cold ice cream on my tender toothies.

Twitching a little, I strode past the other employees happily slurping their bars, and deposited mine in one of the office freezers, surrendering it to community property. Whew! Thank goodness for bad teeth!

What a neat tradition ... but I'm so glad you passed it up! Your teeth AND your waistline are thanking you!

Teeth

Postby Jan » May 11th, 2006, 8:21 pm

Whoa,
As a person who had the unhappy experience of 4 -- yup 4 root canals last year I can identify with the "cold tooth syndrome" Ohhhh does that hurt, and how great that you turned it into a positive. By the time you've parted with the pounds maybe your teeth will be less sensitive and you can indulge once in a while.
