You know that question that everyone hates to hear as they get closer to goal... You know, "When are you going to stop losing?... You don't need to lose any more."

It is funny, Last night I asked Joelie when she thought I would hear those words that she has heard many times. She said soon. You look great and many people would say that. Today I had someone say that to me. I did look pretty good today in what I was wearing. I know though what I have left to lose. I accepted the compliment and it wasn't intended negatively, the guy even said I know you are doing things healthy and will stop when you need to.

This was a client I hadn't seen in about a year (before I started losing weight).

You may hate hearing it all the time, but it's kind of nice to hear every once in a while!

I agree. This was the first time for me, and it was nice to hear, but I know the people who say it as a negative are the times I will hate hearing it.

Exactly...the first couple are kind of cool, after that it gets annoying...yay for the first, hope the next few are painless!

Yeah i get it all the time now, and I even had someone tell me today when I told them that I only had 3.9 pounds to go...."don't start being anorexic" I'm like....umm...I eat all day long... So very annoying, but most of the time it is all in good spirits!

I get this at work all the time. It is annoying to me- because these people are just jealous that they cannot lose any weight. When I was 155, they started telling me I looked anorexic and should stop dieting. Please. I am 5'5". That is not skinny by any means.

As has been pointed out by many, people who make those comments usually are thinking that you are making them look bad! I always remember what Ann Landers said to someone who wrote to her about people asking intrusive/insensitive questions - look them straight in the eye and say "Why in the world would you ask someone that?"

I really despise the fake sincerity that hides jealousy or just plain old nosiness about things that are none of their business.

Hold your head high, and come back here to find support, if you can't get it anywhere else - I know I'd love to have folks start asking me that!

I know many of us say....we can't wait for people to ask us that question (I'm one of them)........but, we do understand that after awhile......it would get very old.

Jennifer gave an excellent suggestion from Ann Landers. I think that would shut people up very quickly. I also agree with Jennifer that people usually make those remarks because of some issues they have with themselves.

Brian, don't worry about what people say.....you know what you are doing......and you look great.
