Hi, Kids ~
I appreciate Mark, my high school chum so much - he often sends me email cutesy wootsies and sometimes they are weight-related.
I had not seen him for 38 years and yet we have emailed with one another for about 10 years. I met him when I had been flab-free for two years.
For those of you who are fairly new to the MakeMeThinner Forum, I never in all my graduating days went to a high school reunion because I was so ashamed of my obesity.
This past August 20th was my 40th HS reunion.
Yeah, yeah, I know...some of you aren't even thirty-something years old so you can't imagine attending a 40 year reunion ...most of the people were fluffy and many had shiny scalps.
I decided to go to the reunion.
I shopped hard and long untl I found the perfect outfit.
I bought a beautiful peweter-colored hand-crocheted camisole and jacket, some sleek palazzo pants and satin slippers. I don't think we got a picture of me or I'd post it for you. I'll scope out DH's camera...
I called Unca and asked him if we could borrow his red Lotus.
(now that I am thin, my hiney fits into the little bucket seat)
I proudly and thinly entered the reunion!
The DH said I looked the best of anyone there and Unca said he was proud of moi - he wouldda whistled, if couldda!
You can be sure I'll go next time.
The reunion committe asked us to submit a short bio for a booklet they would publish post-reunion. I worked up the nerve, wrote about my formerly flabby life and shared about my how I'm livin' now. The booklets just came out this past week. I wonder if anyone will contact me.
Here's the adorable little Thanksgiving Blessing from my friend...hope ya like it, too!
'Twas the night of thanksgiving, but i just could not sleep.
I tried counting backwards, i tried counting sheep.
The leftovers beckoned - dark meat and white,
But I fought the temptation with all of my might.
Tossing and turning with anticipation,
The thought of a snack became infatuation.
So i raced to the kitchen, flung open the door
And gazed at the fridge full of goodies galore.
I gobbled up turkey and buttered potatoes,
Pickles and carrots, beans and tomatoes.
I felt myself swelling so plump and so round.
'Til all of the sudden i rose off the ground.
I crashed through the ceiling, floating into the sky
With a mouthful of pudding and a handful of pie.
Then, I managed to yell as I soared past the trees....
Happy eating to all - pass the cranberries please.
May your stuffing be tasty, may your turkey be plump,
May your potatoes 'n gravy have nary a lump.
May your yams be delicious,
May your pies take the prize,
May your thanksgiving dinner stay off of your thighs!
Thanksgiving blessings to you all!
Kids, do your best to stay true to your goals!
I'll be thinkin' aboutcha!
