Tequila Lime Marinade

Postby electra000 » May 11th, 2006, 7:32 am

I found this recipe in Dana Carpenters low carb recipe book. Sounds really good to me. I plan on making up a batch this weekend and marinating some chicken breasts. After I marinate them I am going to wrap them individully in press-n-seal freezer wrap and place them in individual freezer bags. That way they will be ready to go on the grill when I am ready for them. I tried this last week with the Teryaki recipe and it worked out great. Let me know what ya'll think. Terri

Tequila Lime Maridade

1/3 cup lime juice (bottled is fine)
1/3 cup water
3 tablespoons tequila
1 tablespoon Splenda
1 tablespoon soy sauce ( I use lite soy sauce)
2 cloves garlic, crushed.

Combine the ingredients, and store in the refrigerator until ready to use.

Yield: Roughly 3/4 cup (enough for a dozen boneless, skinless chicken breasts or a couple of pounds of shrimp). In the whole batch there are 13 grams of carbohydrates and 1 gram of fiber, for a total of 12 grams of usable carbs and no protein, but since you drain most of the marinade off, you won't get more than a gram or two of carbs total.

:bib: Enjoy ! Terri

That sounds good. I use a Tequila Lime powder. I get it from dan and bucks dot com. They also have jalepeno steak butter, butter ponchatrain, cajun blackened, I don't remember what all it is. Anyhow, I bought the sample pack which consisted of all 6 flavors. The bottles are big and it was only like $28, I think. I sent the link to Nancy before I bought and used them, as they had stuff like Tequila and Butter in their names, but she said they were fine to use. They are really good!!
