Biki, I keep trying to catch up to your current weight....it is like a 'carrot on the stick in front of the donkey' for me. When I'd see you at 174 and I was 184, I'd be hoping to get a couple good losses so that I could get closer to your weight, but then you'd lose another 3# or 5# and I'd fall behind 12#, or more, once again. :D Chasing your weight loss has been one of the ways I've kept my resolve and focus to do well on the program. Another reason for you to stay compliant ;) You need to continue to be my carrot. ;)

With my snacking night before last I am above ticker by 2 pounds so you have less than 10 to catch up. You can do it!!!

So proud of you for holding out, TEE!
Babe, I am thinking about you and wondering if you would consider some walking and perhaps some strength training.
Research says that you will have faster metabolism and lose faster because of stronger muscles. :weightlift:
A really interesting site that explains all this is the Strong Women site: wwwdotstrongwomendotcom.
Very helpful, and no confilict with our MF plan.
Oh, I just want you to get to goal my friend, sooner rather than later.

This would be a perfect opportunity for you Tawanda because with my sickness I am not getting in my two miles a day!

Biki, I don't want to pass you---or even to catch up all the way.....I just wanted to get closer to the same weight and I don't want you to have gains, tough times nor plateaus. If I caught up because of those I'd just have to gain some penalty pounds so it would feel right. ;)

Lit'lbette, I will check out the strongwoman site. I do have the walk away the pounds videos so could begin doing those at least. I know it is time to begin doing some exercise....... but I don't wanna. ;)

TEE, How cute! Yeah, it really is time. You will definitely need it in maintenance.
Just get started doing something and soon it will be old hat, second nature...whatever.
You know, those video's may also have some weights involved. That would help tone you up.
I know you'll be glad you did.
I had exercise videos/ cds laying around here years and just started really, really using them lately.
Oh, me, how I wasted some of my precious time.

I just want us both to stop having gains, tough times and plateaus. At least you came by this last one honestly. These last few days have been from my cereal/cracker debacle! I just wish we could both lose the 3-5 pounds or so a week that we learned to expect being compliant. I know, patience, patience. And this last one was my fault. But the 11 day one wasn't!

Tawanda -

Just chiming in on the exercise thing here. I am of the opinion that if I still don't want to exercise, I shouldn't force myself to - because it'll be just one more thing that I dread and eventually quit, and I don't want that to lead to me quitting MF as well, feeling burned out. That said, I have been following the program for over 5 months now and I am finally starting to want to move my body. So I think it will come for you eventually. Right now I'm just walking more places that I would have driven to before, and going golfing, and even if it's not exercise per se I'm trying to get out of the house more and do more activities, especially outings with the baby to playgrounds or just out in the yard. Maybe you could try things like that? I don't remember how old your grandkids are, but my daughter is almost 2 and she loves going to the playground - and we have this really cool one at the school I teach at that is big enough for the parents to follow right behind the kids so you get to play, too! It's just that I'm starting to believe that our bodies WANT to be active and fit and strong and move around, and as we get rid of the pounds our bodies will blossom in that way, too.

Just my two cents. :)

I had already been walking before MF as a way to deal with my bipolar disorder that they hadn't quite gotten in check. I HAD to move. But I liked the way it made me feel. Once the first three weeks was up on MF, I still had all that energy that needed a release so I kept on walking. It can be very addictive. I know I have said this before but I went walking in snow and ice to Starbucks at 5:30am I wanted to walk so badly. That was when I was still a little manic. Now that I am stabilized (no comments from the peanut gallery) I still walk even though it could be slowing my losses. It certainly didn't appear to when I lost 3.5, 5 or 7 pounds a week but I still worry since Nancy lost all her weight without an exercise plan. I do well on the weigh-ins if I haven't cheated or if TOM isn't rearing it's hormonal storm. I like the fact that exercise is keeping my metabolism higher than it would be if I were doing nothing at all. I think having a fitness regimen in place will serve me well in transition and maintenance when I can really ramp it up. This is just for me and can understand how adding one more element, especially to those with busy lives, can seem overwhelming or just a pain in the rear. I mean what else to I have to do??? Order groceries and play on Ebay?

And another one bites the dust....
And another one's gone.....
Another one's gone.......
Another one bites the dust..........

:D Pound that is! I'm .5# away from the 40# club. Keeping my fingers crossed that I can see the scale move down tomorrow morning and hit that 40# in 4 months goal. :)

Thanks for the input and well wishes!

Thinking of Musical Momma this morning since it is the day she's having her surgery.....

See, I told you it would melt away. I didn't lose an ounce today and am still 3.5 pounds from the 70 club and my goal was to reach it by mid-week. I guess it still is, just NEXT midweek. Also you're just 5-6 pounds away from my weight. You'll leave me in the dust!

Biki, not interested in leaving you in the dust....I'd just be happy to stick within 5# of where you are so that I can ride on your coat tails to goal. ;) You have such excellent losses that I'm sure you'll be widening the gap between our weights in no time at all.

I was thinking that I'm just a few pounds from having my 'need to still lose' weight be less than 30#.

Today was a milestone weight for me as I've not been at this weight since 1994. 13 years of weighing more than I do right this minute (and at one time weighing 50# more than I do today). I'm so thankful to have found this program, to have it work so well in my life, to recognize that this opportunity is something that I should appreciate & cherish, that I need to follow the program until I reach my goal and learn how to maintain my goal weight for the rest of my life. I'm so excited to see the changes in my body in these next months as I get closer and closer to my goal weight! :D

Congrats on your milestone. Mine will be 157, 9.5 pounds away, when I can say I have lost 100 pounds since July.
