Donica, you are most welcome, I just hope I was able to help a bit. Truly the MF program is going to work, as we see from our own and other's journey on it, but sometimes the weight loss may be incredibly slow which is discouraging. As you said in your journal--it will happen and we can't let ourselves get caught up on how long it takes. If it takes 27 weeks versus 36 weeks (just grabbing numbers) it really doesn't matter (even if it makes us sad
). What matters is that we do stick with the program, get to goal and do what is necessary to maintain. I'm talking to myself more than talking to you as you probably already have this all figured out.
Well, the scale shows that I'm down 9.5# . I don't trust the fickle scale to show the same tomorrow but I'm sure hoping it will.
Recently, I ordered the book Life is Hard, Food is Easy by Linda Spangle, RN. I also bought her book 100 days of weight loss. Last night I began reading the Life is Easy Food is Hard book, so far, I like what I'm reading. If anyone isn't familiar with the book, it says on the cover "The 5-step plan to overcome emotional eating and lose weight on any Diet" I read that the author has been associated with MF and was the author of a MF book (cannot think of the name--I believe it is 'Shaker' something.).
I'm on day 17 of my MF journey, 100% compliant and feeling very good about what I am doing. I've sat with a calendar, pen and paper so that I could figure out when I'd hit goal if I could lose 3# a week, 2.5# a week, 2# a week, 1.5# a week----
I've been a figuring fool. I realize that I cannot pinpoint how fast the weight will come off. That there is no way to know when a nasty, horrid plateau will hit and how slow those last pounds (the last 50?
) may take to come off. But it sure is fun to see what 'might' happen and how soon.
Okay, so yes, I have too much time on my hands.
I have a full and busy couple of days coming up so I'd better get myself moving and be ready for the day.
