Oh yeah.. pedicures are so awesome! I had one when I was pregnant and couldn't reach my feet to scrub them hehe. I think I'll have another one just because they did such an awesome job! I love it that they bring you something to drink and read too. ;)

Now, there's something I can agree with! Love my pedicures almost as much as I love having my hair washed. My hair dresser gives a great head massage.

Pedicures ARE awesome!
One of the very few good things about having a bad back is that I have to get pedicures. :dunno:
The massage chair is a suh-weet side benefit, too!

Good job on "treating" yourself, Tawanda!
You deserve every bit of it, and this is something
you CAN do in quantities of huge proportions!

I used to go to this place in Dallas where after the head massage they would mist two different aromatherapeutic scents around you. For you North Texas people it was over at Preston Center.

Last time I had a pedicure, my back was too tender for the massage chair. But that was right after I started PT.

Hi Tawanda!

I'm so glad you finally decided to "treat" yourself! They're addictive, aren't they? Isn't it amazing? When I was really big, I didn't think I deserved the pampering and used to think luxury was some food. One thing that's realy exciting to me is that as we progress into our new healthier bodies, I'm caring more about how I look, how I feel about myself and it shows on the outside!

Way to go girl!

Wow, all these pedicure lovers here, too! LOL What I have been missing over the years by not trying it sooner?!

Biki, every 1.5 to 2 weeks in the summer? Yikes, it isn't happening for me as I'm not spending that much money on my feet....but I will be going back every couple months for sure. Next time I want to do the one with the wax dip & massage.....it is two hours (yikes!) but I need to experience it.

I thought for sure that the scale was going to show a bigger loss than what it did this morning. Last night (before shower) I was only .5 above my morning weight so I was pumped that I was going to see a great loss this morning.......... :? Didn't happen, LOL. Oh well......I'm content with 1.5 as I realize it could have been less (fickle scale). I sure do love those weeks that I can claim a 3# loss though! :D

Today is going to be a challenge as we've been invited to a luncheon at one of our children's home after church. Sandwiches and chips is probably going to be the lunch, which I will not eat and it may be the time that I have to fess up that I'm on a program. I'm going to take along a shake, drink it in my car on the way to their home, and try the 'I'm not hungry right now but will have something later' and if that gets questions, then we'll see what happens. I'm still not ready to share that I'm dieting/losing......probably when I get under 170, then I'll be okay, but right now....I still want to keep this all to myself.

With over 30 pounds lost you think they haven't noticed yet?

I told everybody I was on it whether they liked it or not and brought a RTD shake to family functions where I couldn't eat. :)

You don't have to do it that often as long as you carry out in between pedicure maintenance with a pumice stone or paddle or other exfoliant, push back your cuticles, repolish etc. Sorry if I made it sound mandatory. Wax dips are nice. I had occupational therapy on my left wrist for a time and I always got the wax treatment first.

I hadn't shared my Medifast diet with anyone either until recently. I pulled out one of the RTD shakes at choir rehersal one night becaus we were going over-time and it was time for me to eat, and someone asked what's that??..i said my Medifast shake...what's that????..i said the BEST program that has helped me to lose 19 pounds so far..."oh, i just KNEW you were doing smething..youlook smaller"...and i wanted to say to her why da'H&&*# didn't you say something til' now...lol! So when YOU feel the time is RIGHT for you to disclose it..you will:+))...Plus she was sitting right next to me on the piano bench and the Medifast words were so bright and clear for her to see anyway so how could i deny it..LOL!!

Love,

Hey Tawanda, pedicures are the best, aren't they!
I can guide you to a reasonable place, full deal pedicure, massage, awesome ped, and $20.00. It's at Lloyd Center, across from the book store, I believe B Daltons. next to Toni and Guy Hair. It's clean, nice atmosphere, and the experience is delightful.
good luck on the eating today with family!

I made it through lunch without any problems or questions! :D I just said "no sandwich for me" and was told "we've got salad fixings, would you like that instead?"....so I built me a salad and stayed on program!

Nope, still no one other than the lady at church, has mentioned or noticed my loss. :? Maybe I'll make it to goal before it is noticeable?

Gotta go......we had g'kids here all weekend and now that we've got the house back to ourselves, there is a bunch to do before the week begins again.

Are you glad to have the house to yourselves again? I'll bet it was a hoot though!

I wish I could budget pedi's more often...but I'm good with the upkeep, so they don't have to bring in the heavy equipment anymore (LOL!)

As for only the lady at church being the only one noticing...Right about 35lbs for me was when people started noticing. I also noticed that I wasn't wearing clothes that people would have noticed...No one paid attention until I started wearing stuff that FIT ME (I was belting up the jeans and still had the BIG shirts on) and I realized I was missing out on those inspirational compliments because I didn't want to spend the money on clothes I knew I wouldn't be in long!

You're doing GREAT!
