Thanks Lizabette, I needed to have it in my journal so it would handy for me to re-read if I felt that I might forget that what I want right now isn't always beneficial to what I truly want long term. I think you mentioned this same thing in the first pages of your journal and that is probably what triggered me thinking & responding at that time.

I just made the cookies that are on the side of the Apple Cinnamon Oatmeal box. I made up two batches (mixed them separately as the first batch seemed a bit too watery when I was done mixing it up so I opened another packet into that same small bowl, adding the ingredients but being more careful about the amount of water so that it worked out that the two servings were the correct consistancy together). I then put the 'dough' on parchment paper and baked them as directed. I made 4 cookies for each of the servings and just ate one cookie warm. I think next time I'll add more cinnamon (can hardly taste it now) but otherwise they are a nice change of pace. They would be also great to make ahead and carry in a baggie in my purse.

I'm going to go enjoy those last 3 cookies (wanted to let them cool so I could see what they tasted like cold, too......aren't I showing great restraint? ) and enjoy my last cup of coffee for the day.

Tawanda - you are doing such a wonderful job!! I love your attitude. It is so important to stay compliant and you are so right - it's a choice. We all need to decide what we want more - food which will cause us more problems or weight loss that will lead to good health.

Let me know how the cookies are once they cool. I have yet to try making the cookies yet - but if they are as good as they sound - I might give them a try.

Tawanda~ You have a great way of putting thoughts into words that make sense. ;) It is a decision we have to make. Do I want to get healthy?........or......Do I want to eat birthday cake?............ Which is more important?

The choices aren't always going to be easy, but regardless we still have to make the choice.

You are definitely encouraging all of us to stay compliant and make the right choices. Thank You!!!!!!

It's NOT just attitude. It is action. Getting up morning after morning and doing the deal whether we are getting the results we like or not.

Ain't that the truth. It's the part about doing the plan when not getting the results you want that's hard. But so far, it's been my experience (and others, too) that when you go for a few days or a couple of weeks with minimal losses, eventually there will come a week that gets you back on track. I had a cheat, and it took me a week to get back to ticker weight - then the week after that I only lost half a pound. But this week I've lost almost 4 pounds already. I would have missed out on this if I gave in to my usual self-defeating thoughts. So it does average out eventually, for most people. (Remember Biki's 7-pound week?)

How were those cookies, Tawanda? I have some oatmeal now and I always forget about the cookie option - but I'm thinking about trying it this week while I'm on vacation. Does anybody know how long they keep in the fridge? Like if I made a big batch on the weekend would it last through the work week without going bad?

The cookies were fine. I won't say they were wonderful, but they are something that I'll make often just for the change of pace. They do need a bit more flavor (to me) but make them the way it suggests the first time and make your own decision on what you'd like them to taste like.

I do not know how they would do in the refrigerator for days. They were fast to make (10 min baking and maybe 3-4 minutes to mix up)...so a good thing to make and then determine how often you'd be able to make them.

I did like them warm......but there wasn't a big difference in taste between warm and cold (I did put the second batch in the 'fridge and had them for my second supplement today.

I know there is another recipe for them in Lean Cuisine...

Weight stayed the same....busy day so just short bursts of being able to check in. Wasn't going to journal, but thought I'd just do it to document my weight loss/journey for myself.

I guess we just have to put the 2 things together......our attitudes and our actions. Boy, what a great combination. :D

Still dragging mentally...it feels like it sure sucks to be me. ;) This, too shall pass, but for right now......blech on my mood!

Staying on program no problem, but didn't get enough water in yesterday (we were heading to a gathering where the 'facilities' were primitive and sparse so I was really careful about what time I cut back on my water consumption ;) ). Down 2# so far this week....don't know if I'll make my usual 3#....I sure hope so.

That is it for this morning...I'll check in for roll call, if not before.

I am dragging too. It's these stupid meds. I am only going to take half as much tonight of the new one. The doctor said I could readjust them as needed since they are mainly for sleep. I just feel sluggish in the mornings instead of chipper like I used to...

I just wrote in Donica's journal and thought I'd better copy my words over into my journal so that I'd be reminded of my own pompous, know it all attitude  whenever I get the crankies over the scale not showing me what I feel I deserve.

Donica, I can understand how you are feeling. I was a bit miffed myself at that lousy piece of metal....how dare it only show 2# when I was compliant all week! But, we did have losses, as small as they seemed and this may just be one of those times that our bodies are changing in inches instead of pounds---or it is adjusting to the lower weight so holding onto extra fluids. I'm just putting these smaller loss weeks right beside the weeks that are 'mini-stalls or plateaus'. The changes are happening even though we may not always have the number on the scale show us that they are happening.

Whatever the reason that the scale hasn't moved a whole bunch (the way we like it to move) it doesn't change that we are doing this because it is important, necessary and worthwhile.....we're in it for the long term, until we hit our healthy goal weight.

Okay, done with my self-talk (I was talking/typing out loud ;) ).

I knew I was going to be a bit discouraged this morning with the scale numbers. I worked hard outside all day and drank almost 120 oz. of water (was thirsty while working) but wasn't making lots of trips into the house to use the facilities. :? So........maybe the scale will show a nice drop in the next few days.
